Ok, so it's finished! After this, I shall return to my commission and comic page work.
Promise!Anywho, I decided to go ahead and finish him. What prompted this? Mom and I went to Hobby Lobby, and she bought me some Faber-Castell brush pens. I was even happier when I found out they were 30% off. Wh00t!
Anywho, so this was a test to see how they would do and interact with my other markers. My Sky Blue Light Prisma is officially dead now. Alas, poor marker. I used it oft and well.

This is so beautiful, I love it! Very good job with the coloring! It's so detailed, too...
And I can't understand why this have so few favorites...compared to my pics 14 favs is a lot, but this pic is so wonderful that I'm sure it deserved much more favs.
I never played any Zelda games, I just know Link cause my friends play these games and they like it a lot. Just like PippinIncarnate said, I can't appreciate it in the fanart sense, but the quality is awesome!

To be truthful, I've never gotten to play the games for more than an hour on both Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess combined... *sigh* But I do have several pictures of Link, so I get to oogle him.

ooooh! must know more! I think I have the same faber-castell markers...are they PITT ones that come in a foggy-clear plastic case? and umm, yeah, I got mine on sale too XD.
anyway, how did you use them with prismas? did you put the FC ones down first and then prisma, or vice versa, or do they even blend? oooh! I've gotta try this ^^
well, enough of me begging for tips. It's time to drool over your work! I've never played any of the zelda games, so I can't really appreciate this in the fanart sennse, but the Quality! the quality is just as good as any professional manga artist, and that's a fact!

Actually, I'm still experimenting with the marker combos. The PITT pens are india ink based, methinks, and they don't like to mix with the alcohol-based markers. So if they're on the bottom layer, it's like putting down a layer of ink and watercoloring over it: its pretty visible and doesn't blend so well. I was able to get away with it on his shirt and hat because I used the lighter green shades there, then put the Prismas on top to get a nice green-with-a-hint-of-tan. On his gauntlet, though, I purely used the PITT pens. I finally was able to get them to blend with each other in a way that I thought made the leather look pretty darn good.
I've not mastered them in any way yet, though, so I'm going to keep experimenting. I'll keep an eye out for any experiments you do with them.

I had noticed the tan in his hat and *takes a second look at the gauntlet* oooh, that's nice too! it is very leathery looking! I plan on making a tut for making what looks like it could be either old, worn leather, or suede, in prismas with the aid of a ballpoint pen (i used the technique here,[link] and if your impatient, one of the comments I replied to there has an explaination of what I did, though it may be foggy without the visuals).
yeah, I haven't gotten nearly enough practise with my PITT pens either, what's worse about that is the fact that I've had them for almost 3 years!

So I finally made it here today - with a whole 20 minutes remaining of today. I figured you were pretty good because you posted here, but I wasn't expecting this.
I'm no judge of how things look. I can't tell you if a nose or eye is out of place; I just know enough about art to decide whether I like it or not. Let's just say I'd die if I could draw a tenth or hey let's be honest... a hundredth that good.

Ummm... I mixed a bunch. It was a May Green and Cinnamon Faber-Castells with the Dark Green and Spearmint Prismas. Pretty much mix and match on a separate piece of paper to figure out what combos are best.
