Description
I just wanted to do a image of the Mass Effect Andromeda Ark Ship in comparison to other Capital ships. So i use some of the bigger Milky Way Ships like the Destiny Ascension or the Geth Dreadnought to show the size of the Initiative Ark Ships. This is more a quick result to get a feeling for the size and not meant to be a complete list of Mass Effect ships. If you want such, watch my prevously Starship Comparisons. It is possible that i include the Ark ships in my other Mass Effect Size Comparisons someday.
Arks are massive starships that were constructed by the Andromeda Initiative to carry 100,000 volunteer colonists from among the races of the Milky Way to the Andromeda galaxy. Each Ark transport 20.000 of them.
The original plan would have the Initiative Base Nexus and the first wave of arks arrive at the same time, but in reality the arrivals were scattered both in terms of time and location. Ark Hyperion only arrived 14 months after the Nexus in year 2819.
The Arks itself were more than 1500 meters in length with a typical crew of around 800 crewmember to operate the ship optimal. Due to the amount of automation, it is also possible to lead the ship in emergencies with fewer than 100 persons.
As massive as the arks are, they are still civilian ships by design and virtue. Even though the arks has some supply of firearms for its security personnel, plus a small fleet of shuttles and fighter crafts, the arks are totally unarmed. Still, the strength of its construction came to display time and again, as proven by surviving a gauntlet through the Scourge, which would typically decimate smaller vessels.
Although the arks were never designed for landing on terrestrial surface, the Hyperion made an emergency crash landing on Meridian, which it managed to come out largely intact, and slated to form the core for the future Port Meridian.

Actually the Quarian Live ships which are refited as Dreadnoughts in Mass Effect 3 were the largest Dreadnoughts.
Destiny Ascension is nearly Reaper size. Has more mass, but is not that tall as a Sovereign class Reaper. Same for the Collector ships. More mass, but the Reaper is still greater in term of length.
A better view is here:

im sorry but I disagree the quarian ship is not a dreadnought its a live ship meaning for living quarters they have 2 of them and they have no home world and that's were they live plus the destiny ascension is largest dreadnoguth yes the collector ship is not far of its same length as a reaper dreadnoguth but thtas my opinion we would never truly no unless there next to eachother of course but I have seen different sizes of the asari dreadnoguth to reapers from diff people so its all about what people reckon or until bioware confirm its actual size

I know, the Liveships are no really proper Dreadnoughts, but they where armed with dreadnought scaled weaponry during Mass Effect 3, effectively making them dreadnought-class vessels though with much weaker armor. (You can talk with one of the Quarian Admirals about this topic in ME3, that these ships now are handled as Dreadnoughts and thus violates the Treaty of Farixen)
There are three Liveships in the Quarian flottilla, not two. But only two of them were given names in the game. And the Liveships are not made for living room, but rather for food supplies.
With the Destiny Ascension i had my problems too during gathering informations for my size comparisons. Especially Mass Effect 1 was a very inconsequent game when it comes to canon sizes. The developers made the vehicles different in size depending on how the ships, or the ground vehicles should look based on the dramatic of the scene. In first i made the Ascension 3 kilometer in height based on the short scene when the Normandy flies the first time to the Citadel. To impress the player, they (the developers) made the ship really big. But later in the battle against the Geth and in Mass Effect 3, the Ascension seems smaller compared to the Alliance cruisers in the endfight cinematic. I used the second appearence for my size comparisons.

true about the live ships but what I mean for living quarters is its closet thing they really have to a home if get me you jogged my memomry about the dreadnought part and thing is you never see all 3 live ships just 2 sadly I would of love to see more quarian ships k=like frigates. corvettes. carriers but they only did to military classes in game ships that would interest me is seeing a hanar drell alliance ship how it would look work I reckon a pink look with strips of some green to represent the drell and maybe a game like empire strikes back were you chose 3 factions. the galaxy alliance. reapers. Cerberus and have grand missions with space aswell I know there is a mod but I would love a actualy game of it

Good job
Was the Collectors' ship really that large? I though it was twice smaller.

Mass Effect is one of the rising stars of the science fiction franchises. Always worth the time for the games. Such great stories. The new part Andromeda is the weakest part, but still a nice game.
