Description
I finally finished my Turian Super Dreadnought so i made a little size comparison with the other ships of the Turian Hierarchy. At least with the ones i have or made myself. Super Dreadnought, Basic Dreadnought, Cruiser and Frigate. The Frigate is the only model we saw in the Mass Effect games. Bioware use this model as Frigate, Cruiser and Dreadnought throught the Trilogy and just change the size of the model. Seems they were too lazy to built other models.
The Cruiser model is a concept found in the Game files of Mass Effect 1. But they never used it ingame. We only saw it later in the Comic Mass Effect Evolution as a First Contact Era ship.
The Dreadnought and Super Dreadnought are my own concepts.

Hello, Amazing work here. I was wondering if one of my friends can use the models for a Stellaris mod.

No, Bioware shouldn't hire you. Yes, your concept is amazing. The super dreadnought is utterly brilliant. Bioware does not deserve you. After the mess of ME:A, they don't deserve that series. If someone buys the rights to ME and decides to remake 4, THEN they should hire you.

At the moment, i hope they made something new in the Mass Effect Universe instead of Andromeda 2. I can even live with a prequel, like the First Contact War or a Spacefighter Sim like Wing Commander in the Mass Effect Universe.

Thanks!
Not sure about Biowares future since Mass Effect is on hiatus.

I just wanted to offer some (hopefully constructive) critique from a design and lore perspective. Β Don't get me wrong, though, this design is pretty freakin' awesome, especially the glow around the weapon itself!
Do you remember the battle for Earth, when the human cruiser blows a couple of legs off a Reaper before it slices the ship in half? Β For something as big as a Reaper--or the Diatryma class--having a wider firing arc means their limited mobility isn't as big a problem. Β Putting the Thanix weapon at the back of the hull would severely limit the firing arc. Β But I could also imagine that trying to run power leads and what not for such a large weapon to the front of the ship would be impractical, and this would be a decent trade off for long range engagements.
What would you say is the benefit from having the larger weapon? Β Longer range? Β Larger beam diameter for a greater chance to hit something vital? Β I don't think it could be penetrative power because the Thanix is supposed to penetrate "any known shield or armor."

I must say, i built the ship not really on the aspect what is the best for the function You are absolutly right, that the main gun could be more up to give her a wider firing arc. As an explanation for this, maybe the weapon is a weak spot of the ship, thats why it is deep down the ship.
Also, the ship is more made for long range fire while protected by cruisers and frigates. The Reaper was more a close range fighter.
The benefit of a larger weapon? I say a longer range and a bigger hole in the enemy ship.

I wonder how a Diatryma class ship would fare against a typical sized Reaper? It looks really powerful.

The Diatryma is a post Reaper War ship, so the Turians learned from the leftovers to imply the Reaper tech into their own ships. The Main Gun is basically the same as from a Capital Reaper ship. I will say it will be a draw.

This is really awesome. Really fits my ending choice Β - Destroy. Take the Reapers appart and integrate the tech! xD

Nice! Only critique would be to make the background a lighter color or shade to make your ship profiles stand out.

Oh my god, I would LOVE to get my hands on these model's (especially dreadnought and super dreadnought) for my Covenant vs Citadel stories!
Would you ever consider releasing downloads to these? I wouldn't mind paying for something like that either as long as I could afford it haha.

Is there any particular reason why you can't release any soon? Also payment or not I did intend to credit everyone involved with every use of the models.

Because its a lot of work gathering all the textures and resources for a single model. I have a, let us say unorthodox methode working with my models. Every texture of all my models are in the same folder. Dozens of gigabyte, thousands of files. Works fine on my station (im a master of my own chaos), but i must pick and copy them per hand if i want them to share.

Riiiiight, I totally understand that. I keep my models and textures packaged together myself but I get how if they were in the one folder that'd be a pain.
Welp, I'll keep an eye out for in case you decide to post anything

The cruiser is seen breifly in ME1, during battle of the citadel. It takes a missile, then its back to cruiser-sized frigates.

You mean the first victim of Sarens fleet in the Battle of the Citadel? Possible. Hard to see from that view, because Cruiser and frigate are very similar from some angles.
Still not sure, because the game model was not provided with textures.

Yes. It looked a bit "fatter" than the ones who are just large frigates.

For the Super Dreadnought? Yes! With the same output of a Reaper main gun.
