I keep thinking it looks like it's made of machete blades strung together like Christmas lights.
I even cut my fingers so much while building this that one might almost wonder if it was. 
VIDEO OF THIS WING IN MOTION & Original Digital Model Having seen how well this crude (cardboard) version works, I now know how to finish refining the design to collapse completely as well as extend completely, remain sturdy instead of torquing or bouncing, and also how to improve the weight distribution. After which, I will make it available to download as a papercraft template through Towerdweller.com.
Goal: 18ft wingspan MINIMUM
Materials in this prototype:
thin cardboard from frozen pizza boxes brass thumbtacks finishing nails white glue hot glue silver spray paint 3/4'' wide gray ribbon

Thank you. I doubt I could give up on 18ft now even if I wanted to. Once I've set a goal, peace of mind goes down the drain.
