Way back when I was planning the villain for GOTF, his original concept was VERY close to Nicole (his name was actually Nicolai the Lynx-- there's a pic of him in my gallery somewhere). When I found out about Nicole, I just put her in his role because he was boring. As for the whole evil thing, there is context for it that will be covered in future issues.

That's the fun of alternate universes-- you can explore different interpretations of a character without ruining the original!
