Sorry but i have to say that the echidna are not based in aztecas, they are based in mayas, Tikal is the name of what it's left of a maya city. Google about mayas for more infomation. El dΓa de los muertos is a celebration of almots all the ancient civilitation of mesoamerica to important that the church can't destoy it so had to make it a cristian tradition that continue to our days. Horrible english sorry.Β

My apologies-- I've done a lot more research on Aztec and Incan culture, so I tend to work from that information more. In the future, I'll do my best to research Mayan sources as well. When I depict Echidna culture I tend to lift from multiple sources as well as mixing in fantastic elements, but you're right. The Maya are probably better as a primary source of inspiration, given Tikal's name.

Nothing like learning about you're lover's past when she was from thousands of years before you. I do love the semi shipping educational time though, it's great.
