Issue 3, Page 6I'm so mean to Sonic. In GOTF, South Island, where Green Hill Zone (and Emerald Hill Zone) are, is in the San Francisco Bay, about where Treasure Island is now. (or where the real Angel Island is, I haven't decided). Shadow's house is somewhere in the city, and Silver lives and works in Chinatown.

Actually, it's cannon that his birth place is Christmas Island, but there's no mention of it in any games or cameo appearances...

That's more or less true, there are versions where he was just a very common visitor, but that doesn't really matter to me

Yeah, a lot of people do, others find it interesting to try to imagine exactly what Christmas Island would look like and why Sonic starts out in Green Hill, South Island rather than his birthplace

i really like reading the ones that try to come up with why he starts in green hill, south island instead of his birthplace but it seems i just enjoy reading what others think and then throwing in my own ideas with theirs instead making something up my self

I once read this fanfiction saying that Eggman used Christmas Island as a sort of test for a very powerful weapon long before he started his initial invasion in Green Hill and ended up killing everyone except Sonic, I don't remember if he burrowed into a hole or was just not anywhere near the blast at the time

i've read a few stories myself where sonic ends up the last suvivor from one of eggmans attacks like that. not sure i could specify them at the moment though

Green Hill and Emerald Hill are different places. And nobody really knows the proper geography of these places... The real-life Emerald Hills is in San Diego.
