Black word balloons! And everybody's always saying how the lens flare is a lazy thing to use...but it seems that in this situation, it's perfect. I get the feeling it wouldn't have as much impact without it.

At this point, they won't have one, just mutural respect. Shadow just isn't interested romantically, and Sicily has another love interest, who shall be made clear very soon.
At the very most, we'll get a half-baked love triangle with Shadow trying to protect her from n abusive relationship with her beau, because he sees a lot of his old self in her.

Sounding pretty interesting, actually - I've become so used to this rendition of Shadow, that the original one's kinda left my memory. Heh. As long as this story's keeping up with its current character development, it's all sounding better to me.
I'm curious about this love interest of hers, either him being an original character or someone from the actual series.

I'm lovin' this page! XD; From Shadow's "eek!" expression in the second panel to Sicily's peeved look in panel five,(and some awesome fang-showing in panel three; it's like a cowboy showdown setting in that one 
I guess Shadow is so used on sitting idle for hours waiting for something, or someone, that he just slips into some sort of meditative stance and doesn't pay attention to his surroundings? Cause Sicily walking up from behind him (with those boots,) should have elected some sort of reaction- assuming his sense of danger hadn't been dulled after so many years...
Or maybe I'm just reading too much into this,
