Description
You probably don’t know this, but I’m a big fan of the Alan Wake game series from Remedy Games (perhaps better known for Max Payne). I’ve been wanting to do a little fan art of Alan since I first set eyes on his amazing game, and today I finally got around to throwing something together!Enjoy!

On a personal note, this looks amazing.
On a critical note, are his eyes supposed to be that far to the left of his face?

This is absolutely awesome~ I'm also a huge fan of the Alan Wake games! (Too bad I don't have a system that supports any of them. I watch walkthroughs just for the heck of it, though.)
I'm admiring his nose and ear because I can't draw them realistically at all. o___o Great job!

It's an amazing picture, I feel sad because you need to buy both DLCs to get the whole story out of them and I still don't have enough money for the second.

There's not really that much story in the DLCs, if I remember. Just more spooky atmosphere and "what's going ooooon?" stuff.

Yeah, it just seems that #1 just ended like that and #2 should continue it.

Alan Wake's American Nightmare actually recaps and continues the story quite nicely. It dosen't finish the story, but it at least sets up some proper ground rules and sets up for the next big game.

I saw this in my DeviantWatch yesterday, and I thought that you had gone into photography. Seriously, that's not easy.
I'm not sure if I have anything to critique! The Detail is mind-blowing, and the expression just goes with the rest of the feeling in the picture. Well done!!
This Deviation has been faved.

In my opinion the best game on the Xbox 360, I absolutely loved it. I instanly bought all the DLC after completing the maingame. There's so much to discover and such a deep and multi-layed story around it.

No effin' way! You are a big fan of this game??
Ha ha! Wow, no expecting that.
Yeah I got that same impression HappyAggro had of Alan's eye's. I felt there was a slight distortion but then again it's done as a sketch initially which became a final piece - it's still a fantastic piece of work nevertheless!
Love the lighting, it definitely fits the right mood of the game that it delivered. I still remember my first experience with Alan Wake - it was pure joy, big fan of these kind of settings. The mystery was too hard not to resist finding out!

His head is tilted-- the eyes to not follow the tilt. Still kicking myself.
I'm patiently waiting for the next game after American Nightmare... it's so rare to find a game that can keep you on the edge of your seat the whole way through like that.

Ha ha! Kick yourself harder! Mua ha ha! >= 3 *gets kicked instead*
But yeah I know right? I love the game because of the concept, I'm into my survival/horror/thriller/mystery games especially when done well. Alan Wake was refreshing and I just LOVE the setting of small towns by the North American mountainous/coniferous/lakeside scenery.
I still haven't played the DLC stuff, bugger I really should! I can't wait for the next game, I wonder where the developers (and the writer) will take it next (in terms of story)?
Oh btw... BIG Daddy's Da Man!! [link]

I believe it's available for Xbox 360, PS3, and for the PC via Steam. You should be able to order it off Amazon or pick up a copy at your local game store.

Sweet! Love the texturing and how you kept the sketch lines in.
I know that it's been voiced that the eyes being large, but I personally don't think that's too big of a deal. However, the right eye appears to be veering a biiiiiiiiiit too close to the right side of the face. Left eye seems fine how it is but it makes it look like the other one is trying to escape! I don't know how crunched for time you are though, so just something to keep in mind for the next time.
I do like your style for humans though: the eyes are bigger than what's usually done for semi-realism but they're so much more expressive that way. They're also not so big as to make the person's face seem eerie.

Yeah, the eyes are wonky-- the one on the right is too high up. I didn't notice 'till the sketch was complete. But hey, it's just a sketch.
