Description
I saw a girl a few weeks ago. I saw her for merely a second, a mere moment, crouched and facing at an angle away from me on the streets of Manhattan. The moment I saw her I knew she was different. She was a character, someone who has a story that follows them around their whole life. I'm not sure how I knew this, but I was certain. Perhaps if I had managed to catch a second look, things would be different. I would have seen that she was ordinary, boring, an extra instead of a star... But I didn't get another look, and I don't believe I ever will.I think I will write a story about this girl that I know nothing about. I'm not sure what it would say. In fact, I have not clue. But I think I will, all the same, document this girl in this way…
And I think I'm going to name her Sara.

AHHHHH! You do this too!!!!! I had the same moment with a woman on my bus the other day! I found myself creepily staring at her; seeing if she had a wedding ring just so I could add to her story. FYI - she doesn't. Which is odd, because she's very pretty. Mid-late thirties, I think. Slim and bright with smile-wrinkles. She has this FANTASTIC technicolour coat that I really love.
But I'm glad i'm not the only one who notices people like that.

This is what happens when us People Watchers develop an imagination, which let's face it, is more often than not.
I have become quite convinced that 'Sara' is from the future and that she is a refugee of some kind who may have been stopping in NY to gather supplies. Or maybe to find something or someone. Whatever the reason, she is from the future and so is her dog!
And now you have me interested about bus lady! I want to see her now (as creepy as that sounds).

This is fantastic. She deserves to have a story - everyone does.

I agree quite whole heartily with that statement. And thank you; I am glad you enjoyed it so much! I really do want to write a story about her. Just thinking about her gets me inspired! Lol, I wonder what she would think if she knew... but if I knew the answer to that I don't think I would be so eager about this project of mine.

In my opinion...EVERYONE is a character as much as anyone else everyone has a story....

Hahaha, I can't say I agree with you a hundred percent, but I do believe everyone has the option of making themselves their own story or sitting at home and playing the sidelines. It's a choice.

I feel the same way about some people. I wonder if the people who are main characters know they are.

Well, everyone is the star filling out their own plot to some extent, but yes, there are those that their story is a movie worthy feature. I doubt most people really think about it too be honest... all the same, thanks again for the Fave and thank you doable for the comment!

I think I'm a side character.
They probably don't, unless they've written an autobiography. Even then it might be because someone else suggested it.
You're very welcome, I'm trying to comment more, but sometimes, I just don't have anything to say that favoriting doesn't say for me.

It's not so strange as you may think.
Beautiful description, too. And I'm curious to know what kind of story your experience inspires

Firstly: thanks for the wonderful comment! I'm glad you admire the way I work words!
And that is a very interesting question, one which I myself have been considering. She herself could be so many things: she could be a runaway, or she could be on her run home. She could be a street kid with lofty dreams. She could be a time traveler escaping a not too distant future, or have super powers. There is the chance of course that she was an alien recruited by government agents or secret immortal wondering through time. She could be a fleeing princess from another reality or a young teen photographer trying to get the perfect shot to win enough money to save her dying brother... and of course there are a thousand other options.
That is what grabbed me I think; she could have been so much, but whatever she was, she was no stranger to hardship and adventure.
