W00T for my new ID! I finally managed to get myself off of my fat ass and make a new one!!! And I even photoshopped it!!!

In my defence, this isn't the first attempt I've had to make an ID since my last one; I guess I've tried at least six times, but each time has ended in failure since I didn't have enough inspiration, or was too self-critical to bother to submit it. I had one picture which was near-completion and looked really good, but I screwed the paper up from extensive rubbing and gave up on it.

Whilst drawing this picture, it occured to me that apart from the eyes my drawing style has no difference from manga at all!!!!!!!!!!! I realised this after seeing that, with the eyes closed, the picture was indistinguishable from any manga work (to me, anyway). This is a big no-no for me, since I've always tried to develop my own style and try not to be influenced too much by others. Oh well. On the up side, apart from the fact that it's in an unrealistic style, it actually looks relatively like myself. Except I don't have two-tone hair (although I want to). In my defence, though, I actually do own all of the clothes depicted, or at least similar versions (yes, that includes the Chinese leather jacket). I don't, however, have a creepy (demonic) mask.

The wing took a bit of work, it was hand-drawn seperately from the rest of the picture and then Photoshopped in (I realized too late that I had drawn the wing about ten times too small, so I had to enlarge it, hence the blurriness. Although actually most of the blurriness was purposeful because I wanted to created that effect). The words I ripped off from issue no. 7 of Neil Gaiman's the Sandman, titled Sound and Fury.

I think it's too big for an ID. Oh well, I'll resubmit a smaller version in a few days then.
