I'm thinking that maybe trying to do comics three days a week is somewhat overdoing it, mostly because I have a life outside of making parody comics. So for now I'm gonna switch to a Wednesday and Friday format, or twice a week. I can manage that!
I do want to make a few Evil Tom Preston comics again... Regular Tom has posted a few doozies, and I'd be a fool not to get to them soon!

I don't want you to redo it, but you had a golden opportunity to do something in the Background with the waitress and the drunk guys, um... I think there's a technical term for it, but I don't know what it is.
Anyways it's a cheap trick to either spruce up a scene that needs the same shots in sequence or add easter eggs. By illustrating something happening in the background it while the main character does their scene can add a secondary joke.
Think like a Zucker Bros movie like Airplane and Naked Gun. There's always goofy shit going on in background. Hmm, in fact I'm writing this down myself so I remember it.
Otherwise I like it.

You can't see it very well, but there's a Strawman behind Alex.
I do eventually plan on going through these pages and making necessary edits, so I'll consider spicing up the background a bit more. Maybe make that Strawman a bit more visible. :3

None the less, I think you did a good job poking fun at this whole freaking joke. Also the lighting effects you did look nice.

The hard part is trying to figure out ways to spin them around. A lot of them don't translate very well, because the only way to spin it is to play the "I wouldn't even have drawn this comic in the first place!" card.
As for the lighting effects; I try my best! I'll tell you a secret.... all my coloring and lighting and general touchups are done completely on my laptop's trackpad. I can't seem to find my spare mouse, and I can't afford a tablet... so, I gotta make do with what I've got.

Bwaha! I thought it was dumb how Preston drew Alex all hot looking and tried using the "gay pirate thinks she's a man" joke. Β This parodies it pretty good

It KINDA made sense in the beginning when Alex dressed in that red uniform... but once Regular Tom switched to that yellow onepiece, whatever humor was left in the joke ceased to exist.

Just be glad Preston didn't have any influence on the James Kidd/Mary Reed design in that pirate game, it would've been a mess

Which is kind of ironic, since he's lately been on the tirade that comic book writers are making female villians/superheroines too boner enticing, yet he's very guilty of doing the same thing in the Alex Ze Pirate comics.
It's ironic or hypocritical. Probably both!
