One thing about demons is that they have a much higher body temperature than many other species. The reason for this is because of their bond with fire. According to Underworld mythology, the soul of a demon is their internal flame, the fire within them that gives them life, mind and purpose. These burning fire inside them are said to be the reason why demons produce so much body heat, to the point where it is a measure of health. Those who catch a foul disease will find that their body temperatures lower, filling them with an unnatural chill. This leads to home remedies where sick demons are encouraged to bathe in boiling hot springs or sleep on hot coals to strengthen their inner flames. Such practices seem quite bizarre to those on the surface, as no one really associates body heat to souls and personal health. To those who live up above, the fact that demons have a higher body heat than others is just a neat biological tidbit. That is until winter rolls around. A chilly winter's day is no fun for anyone, so why not curl up next to a nice, warm heat source?
