Though worlds and realms lie apart from one another, there are still bridges that can be crossed. Like thousands of islands scattered in an endless sea, they remain separate but present. Those who can read the tides and ride the waves may find these realms not so far out of reach, as was the case for Jur. Jur was a traveler, but on a larger scale than one could imagine. While some travelers may go from town to town, continent to continent, Jur dealt with the travel between realms. To see worlds beyond the unknown, to visit beings who couldn't possibly exist anywhere else. But mostly, it was to have some good fun. This was why Jur found himself in this one, particular universe.

Bound by the rules of realm jumping, Jur found himself in this strange land with hardly anything on him. Pretty much just the hair on his head and the clothes on his back. Not the best tools to have when exploring a strange, new world. So he wasted no time in scrounging whatever he could find. A simple wicker basket held in a frame of leather straps made for a good backpack, and he sought out tools to fill it with. Any useful item he could find, he collected. From tinder boxes to campfire fuel, from helpful hatchets to defensive spears. From his searching he found himself a decent set of clothing as well! A good pair of boots and a nice hefty cloak. Two pauldrons, though they didn't match, and some decent under armor to go with it. He even landed himself a good sized sword, despite it being pretty worn and chewed up. If it kept the native fauna from chewing on him, it was good enough.

Out of all his luck, though, his best find was in the form of a native dryad. He stumbled into her while he was busy exploring the forest, which interrupted her little hunting trip. This did not bother her, as she was more curious about this odd stranger. The Bloody Dryad introduced herself as Thelma, and gave him a good slew of questions. His rather bizarre explanation of where he was from intrigued her. A strange tale so fantastical, it couldn't possibly be true! Regardless, it was a pretty neat story, and Thelma offered her help if Jur so required. As it turns out, Jur did have a need for her services. Though he had traveled between many worlds, a new universe was still quite the alien place. Skills like identifying edible plants or spotting dangerous predators were not ones that crossed over too well when entering a completely new dimension. So with a kind request, he obtained her as an invaluable guide, a role Thelma was happy to fill. With that, she took it upon herself to teach him some basic survival tips, as well as adding to his survival gear. Since she worked part time as a Bone Slug farmer, she gifted him with a set of bone knives, as well as other useful tools. Maps were definitely a welcomed addition, as well as an odd upgrade to his sword. She was even kind enough to give him a copper leaf necklace, which apparently was meant to ward off evil. These gifts were most welcome, and the two set off to further explore the land.

What Jur seeks in this new world is quite unknown, but that really isn't the goal. The mere thrill of exploration and discovery is more than enough for him. For Thelma, she is more focused on making sure nothing eats him. He is quite the interesting fellow, and it would be a waste of good stories if that were to happen.
