As I mentioned a while ago, I wanted to alter the design of my character Merrill Myron and this is me trying out a new look. Previously she was just a Common Dryad, but over time I found that a little bland (especially with the numerous dryad species I made). So instead I wanted to change her design a bit and cross her with a Desert Dryad. She would be a cross breed between a Common Dryad mother (Vera Myron) and a Desert Dryad mother (not yet named), so I was trying a design that shared their look. My thinking was that her Common Dryad traits would essentially dull down the Desert traits, making her spines shorter, the dorsal growths more reduced and causing her to walk on two limbs rather than on all fours. Alongside this, I figured it would also be smart to change the look of her gear. She now has arm and leg wrappings which she uses to cover her spikes so that she doesn't jab people on accident. Her armor is now more dryad-like, as they more often use armor built from natural things like exoskeletons, leather and plant material. And she also has a sleeping gown for bedtime, though it requires more wrappings so she doesn't shred it when she sleeps. She is also supposed to wear a sleeping cap, but sometimes she forgets and finds herself waking up with a rather odd bedhead.

Overall, I am pretty pleased with this design but it isn't finalized. One thing I want to change is her midriff, as I want to make it more woody and trunk-like, kind of like her previous design. Her head cap I am also still working on, as I want to see if there is a way I can incorporate some more color or give it some nods to her Common Dryad traits. I will figure it out eventually, but what do you think so far?
