Description
Ever since his brutal transformation, Ver'Rahl has sought to conquer the lands and bury the living beneath a sea of undead. He wishes to grow in power and standing, eventually reaching a point where he can heal his fragmented mind. To become stronger and find a cure, though, Ver'Rahl needs test subjects. He needs more energy, more souls and more lives to use to fuel his mission. True, one could simply rob a few cemeteries and have a good picking of bodies to use, but Ver'Rahl needs something a bit more fresh. Razing a few towns and conquering a couple of kingdoms would have his fortress awash with fresh bodies and screaming prisoners. Even outside of that, there is nothing more entertaining than watching foolish mortals fight for their insignificant lives, clinging to their false gods and useless ideas as they drown. So be it for work or play, the many villages and populations of the surrounding kingdoms are prime targets in Ver'Rahl's eyes. There is one problem though. A pesky thorn that seems to be stuck to his thigh at every moment. The Knights of the Wrong Table. That infuriating order of freaks and creatures that always seems to pop up when Ver'Rahl is just getting in the groove of things. Any time he is trying to harvest a village or taking one of his new creations for a test run, that disgusting order always shows up to spoil it all. He has lost track of how many of his new abominations they have slain and how many of his plans they have foiled. It wouldn't be so bad if they appeared to be at least competent! How does one lose to an order that employs a snail, a coat rack and a walking sewage pile?! Even his top general has been bested by a walking plant on numerous occasions! Its maddening! He has thrown many twisted monstrosities at the infernal order, and every time, they seem to come out on top. Even the likes of Darkest Knight has not been enough to finish them off. The whole group has done nothing but enrage him, so Ver'Rahl has been seeking a way to off them for quite some time. Recently, though, he has come up with a new idea. Something a bit fresher.Ver'Rahl possessed plenty of necrotic energy and mutative powers, enough that he could turn a single corpse into a twisted, alien monstrosity without even trying. All he needed to do was a few simple spells on a pile of limbs, and another shrieking undead would be added to his hordes. That, however, could be the problem. All this time, Ver'Rahl had been going the easy route, rolling undead out on organic assembly lines. No deep thought or planning to it. He was just spitting them out left and right, not stopping to put some real elbow rot into it. So one day, after another humiliating defeat, Ver'Rahl decided it was time to come up with a new big project. Sometime ago, he had experimented with the idea of adding metal and armor during the transformation process, which was met with mixed results. After that, though, he had not spent much time doing real, indepth experimentation. It seemed that now was the time.
Locking himself in the lab, Ver'Rahl spent weeks working endlessly over a pile of flesh, chitin and organs. He sealed himself in alone, so no blundering undead could come in and muck it all up. The only being he saw during the whole time was Nekrosis, who was sent off from time to time to fetch more supplies. Ver'Rahl never ceased in his efforts, taking all the time he needed to assemble this new creation while he was calm and collected. After a few months of exhausting work, Ver'Rahl at last came upon success, and a new undead monstrosity was born. The new creature, Vilicity, was a sight to behold. A sleeker, deadlier undead, designed for maximum efficiency and power. She was not some thrown together meat pile, she was a work of monstrous art. After all that time, and all that effort, Ver'Rahl looked back at his work and realized that it all was totally not worth it. During the long exile he placed himself in, his standing seemed to only weaken while the order only seemed to get stronger. After all that work, all that came out of it was a single undead minion. A powerful one, for sure, but Ver'Rahl was unsure if it would be enough to turn the tides. Regardless, Vilicity was now a new addition to the team.
Attitude - Due to her speed-based anatomy, Vilicty is a very hyperactive creature. She always seems to be zipping about, using her abilities to keep herself amused. Even when forced to stand in one spot, she won't stop moving her limbs and fidgeting. Going slow is something she cannot tolerate. When forced to remain at normal speeds, she gets very agitated and antsy. Her body is equipped to work at high speeds, so normal speed is ungodly slow to her. As a person, Vilicty is quite the show off. She constantly tries to show off her skills and impress people with her abilities. Doing things simple is never in her plans, as she has to do things as extravagantly as possible. This goes for any task given to her, and even chores that people didn't ask of her. If anyone needs something done, she has to be the first to do it. If Ver'Rahl is looking for a certain organ for his experiment, she will appear at his side with a dozen of them on a silver platter. While others may see her behavior as egotistical, Vilicity's excessive ways are truly meant to impress Ver'Rahl. Vilicity is very much aware that Ver'Rahl believes her creation was an absolute waste of time and resources, and that is a painful thing to her. So she always tries to be the best soldier in his army, completing impossible tasks and pulling off stunts so that Ver'Rahl sees them and is proud of her. Successes are celebrated greatly, but failures hit her very hard, especially since Ver'Rahl gets really mad when plans fail.
Relations - Her main relation is with her creator, Ver'Rahl, who has very mixed feelings about her. At certain times, she is a powerful tool for him, but at other times, she is a miserable failure to him. Ever since Ver'Rahl first made her, he has regretted the time and resources he wasted on her creation. When he sees her, he just sees the weeks and months it took to put her together, all while his strength weakened. To top it all off, Vilicity's body takes extra time to maintain and repair, which eats up days of work each time she is injured. With that, Ver'Rahl is somewhat protective of her, making sure she does not get injured unnecessarily. He will pull her out of fights if things go wrong, and order her to retreat if she gets so much as a scratch. This overbearing protective behavior is a double edged sword for Vilicity. On one hand, she gets lots of attention from Ver'Rahl and it shows he cares about her somewhat. On the other hand, though, it means she cannot fight on the battlefield and show Ver'Rahl how good of a soldier she is. How can she impress him if he keeps pulling her away at the moment of victory? How will she show him that all his efforts were worth it if he just keeps putting her on the sidelines. Even with that, anytime she gets injured, Ver'Rahl is always in a sour mood when fixing her, with plenty of grumbling to be had. Vilicity only wants to be appreciated and seen as success, which drives her to always try to impress Ver'Rahl. Anytime he needs something done, she is the first in line. Even if he doesn't ask her directly, she will try to find a way to help out. These efforts can have mixed results for her. At times, he is satisfied with her help, and at others, he finds it quite irritating. If he is already in a foul mood, one of her attempts for approval can just anger him further. Anytime he is mad at her, it is a crushing blow to her, as it clearly lowers her standing with him. It doesn't help that Ver'Rahl has a very short temper and is prone to screaming bouts. The simplest slip or error can cause him to blow and he does not sugarcoat his words when he is mad.
Outside of Ver'Rahl, Vilicity interacts with Nekrosis on a regular basis, as he is technically her boss when the necromancer isn't around. Just like Ver'Rahl, Nekrosis has mixed feelings on Vilicity. He greatly appreciates her destructive power on the battlefield, and loves the advantages her powers give to his army. When the two fight side by side, Vilicity uses her speed to throw opponents into Nekrosis' blades, allowing the two to tear through soldiers with ease. He is at his happiest with her when she aids him in a fight, loving the thrill of it all when Vilicity turns him into a deadly cyclone. The issue he has with her, though, is she does not take orders well. She likes to do things her way, or try to show off to the world when in battle. While Nekrosis would like her to do simple tasks, like open a locked gate, she has to go the extra mile, which just means more chances for things to go wrong. This frustrates Vilicity, as she knows that Nekrosis likes to be showy as well, so she sees him as a hypocrite. She also hates how he assigns her to mundane tasks, which gives her zero chances for glory and success. She wants to be the one who scores the kills and helps topple the fortifications, as that will catch Ver'Rahl's eye. Who cares about the person who opens locked doors and sabotages siege weapons? To further strain this relationship, Nekrosis despise the attention and protection she gets from Ver'Rahl. Whenever something goes wrong, or she gets hurt, Nekrosis gets a chunk of the blame as well. The angered necromancer will demand to know why Nekrosis didn't stop her or why he ordered her to do this obviously dangerous task. Nekrosis hates how she gets away with these actions, and since Ver'Rahl doesn't fully blame her, it only encourages her to keep doing it. While Nekrosis is not out for Ver'Rahl's approval like Vilicity, he very much wants to stay in good standing with his master. The two often get caught in competition with each other, which can end up screwing both of them over in the end.
For her other coworkers, Vilicity finds Haceil Grubtongue to be obnoxious. The feeble undead loves to complain and bicker, which she wants no part of. He also is aware of her fight for Ver'Rahl's approval, so he does not hesitate to rub her failures in her face. His comments and insults can be biting at times, which she responds to with a high speed kick to send the mouthy undead flying in pieces. Darkest Knight has no real opinion on her, as he just fights and smashes. He shows no ill will towards her, and Vilicity makes sure not to bother him. She had heard from Nekrosis that Ver'Rahl had once made a prototype of her and had tested it on Darkest Knight. The speedy undead worked pretty well, until Darkest Knight caught it. Nekrosis didn't leave any of the gruesome details out, so Vilicity makes a point to never irritate the monstrous being.
Subordinates - None
Abilities - Vilicity was designed solely around one simple, but deadly, thing: speed. Through the use of necrotic energy and mana, Vilicity is able to move at blinding speeds. With enough energy, she can move fast enough to vanish from normal sight, seemingly able to teleport from one place to another. She is able to move at break neck speeds for minutes on end, which is enough time for her to get past enemy defenses and take down unwary opponents. Though this ability may seem rudimentary, she is designed and trained to use it with deadly efficiency. Not only can she use her speed to outrun foes and zip past attacks, but she can use her momentum to deliver shattering blows. A high speed kick is strong enough to punch through armor, and her lightening fast claws can cause wounds to appear on confounded opponents. With claws on hands and feet, she can scale buildings and walls while running, allowing her to attack from all angles. Even when she is not running, she can accelerate her limbs to unleash split second barrages of punches and kicks, or spin them at fast enough speeds to disperse liquids, slime and fire. Vilicity often uses her abilities in tandem with other undead. While foes are locked in combat with the ravenous hordes, she will zip around the battlefield and strike. If Vilicity is present on the battlefield, one will most likely not see her, but they will witness her handy work. Fellow warriors may suddenly be flung into shredding maws by some unseen force, or soldiers will find their weapons and shields vanishing while in the middle of combat. While Vilicity may be one undead, she is a powerful aid to any army that has her on their side.
Tools - Vilicity does not have any signature weapons that she carries on her. Rather, she grabs stuff from the environment and uses them as she fits. She ranges between sticking buckets on the heads of fighting soldiers, to impaling warriors with their own swords. Any sharp or blunt object that is laying around is good enough for her. Any tool at high enough speeds is capable of being a deadly weapon. That is not even mentioning that one time she got her hands on a rubber ball...
Weaknesses - Though her extreme speed is a daunting ability to face, it does have many weaknesses. The first issue is overheating. When Vilicity activates her accelerating abilities, every part of her body is working at full force. Her large brain is required to function at insane levels in order for her senses to work correctly at such speeds. Her muscles and limbs are burning just as much energy as well. With all of these bodily functions required for her to move as fast as she can, she runs a risk of overheating. Anytime she runs or accelerates her body, she must stop at some point to let her body cool down. This leaves her in a slow and vulnerable state, as she just stands there and pants. Foes who fight her should wait until she has to stop, and then strike while she is operating at normal speeds. On the flip side, if one can force her to use her powers for long enough, her body will burn out and crash. Some part of her body will fry and she will not be able to use her speed as efficiently until she is fixed. This leads to another weakness, which is the delicate systems that allow her to move so fast. From multiple air intake orifices, to an enlarged brain and specialized muscles, every part of Vilicity is required for her accelerating ability. Disabling any one of these is enough to slow her down and greatly reduce her threat. One part of her body that can cause trouble is her eyes. To protect her eyes from debris while moving at high speeds, her eyeballs are encased in a transparent skull. This does help in protecting her vision and allowing her to analyze objects at high speeds, but it also has its problems. The main issue is that she can never close her eyes. Foes can use blinding flashes of light to disorient her, or mesmerizing effects to slow her down. Splattering her skull with obscuring fluids can also blind her. Blinding her in the middle of a run can be disastrous for her, as any trip or slip up will send her slamming into the nearest wall.
If one can use any of these methods to damage her, than that is enough to achieve victory. Vilicity's body requires large amounts of upkeep, and even the smallest repairs can take days to perform. Ver'Rahl absolutely hates having to fix her up, and does his best to prevent her from taking major damage. With that, he is quick to pull her out of fights if things seem to be going wrong. If she receives any kind of injury, it is almost guaranteed that Ver'Rahl will force her off the battlefield when he finds out about it.
---------------------------------------------------------
A speed-based undead monster has always been a design I have been trying to come up with for some time. The intention was for it to be another one of Ver'Rahl's one-shot monsters, a baddie for the order to fight and defeat in a single adventure. The issue was that it took so much time to come up with the final design, I started getting rather attached to the beastie. Then once I came upon the final design, I loved the final look so much I felt kind of bad using it as a single-shot creature. So Vilicity was born, another minion of Ver'Rahl, but one who shows up much later in the timeline than the other undead baddies.

How does one lose to such an order? Simple, it takes only two steps:
1. Underestimate the opponent, ex.:because of how ridiculous they appear to be, thinking you know them...;
2. Overestimate yourself, as in thinking your plan is foolproof and that your might is enough for example.

Those are good steps, a third step would be:
3. Focusing your plan on one core concept without acknowledging the fact that there are probably at least three members of the order who are completely immune to whatever monstrosity or tactic you are using.

So this is what happens when a Xenomorph impregnates XLR-8...

You wouldn't believe the amount of facehuggers they used to try and catch that sucker...
And wow, I never heard of that guy before, but his design really fits with Vilicity. They are both blue too!

So many wasted eggs.
I'm not a huge Ben 10 fan, but I remember that alien.
