Description
A type of ghost that roams the asylum on The Cursed Isle, Voltergiests were once victims of electroshock therapy. Though electroshock therapy has its uses and can be beneficial, the way it was used on The Cursed Isle was not correct and was certainly not humane. Now morphed into Undead monsters after the massacre, Voltergiests are filled with the power of electricity. A large battery is imbedded in their chest, sending electrical currents through its body and wires. The spikes and claws that emerge from its flesh are made of metal, and can channel this electricity. It has different methods of attack, one of the most common is grabbing a victim's head between the metal plates in its hands and frying them with high voltage. The claws on its chest and hands can be used like cattle prods, channeling energy to two prongs and zapping those it jabs. It can also bear hug opponents and fry them with its chest spikes. Voltergiests can be found in the asylum, be rarely they can be found outside. The ones outside are considered to be more dangerous because they have an extra move. When close to defeat, a Voltergiest will grab hold of the enemy and use its electric powers to channel a lightening strike through it to the ground. The resulting bolt kills the Voltergiest, and those it was holding onto.

Voltergiests can easily be identified by their jerky movements, and the strange laugh that they emit that sounds like someone being electrocuted.

Interestingly enough, some of the doctors on the island have captured and modified these ghosts so that they can power equipment and lights. These power sources can provide unlimited energy, but can be killed in order to cut off power to the area.
