Are Gapuri an open species? Would it be okay for me to make one for roleplay purposes?

I'm flattered but the Gaprui are not an open species. You're more than welcome to draw them and color them how you like, but they exist in a universe I created and I haven't wanted to overlap them into other stories as of yet. I still have plans for them so I don't want to complicate the world I've built for them too much. Thank you for asking! I'd actually be interested to know what you wanted to roll play them as though if you don't mind me asking.

It's a fairly small thing. The group started with Homestuck role playing specifically, but has expanded to aliens in general. I love Gapuri for their beluga faces and noodly arms.

How do their secondary arms work? Are they muscular hydrostats, like an elephant's trunk?

Honestly I abandoned this project a while ago and haven't put much thought into it since.

Oh.
I guess I'll just assume that it's hydrostats. I dunno.

It's more that I just don't remember, it was something like that...I'm sorry, it's been a while since I've done anything with the Gapuri. My current project is the Bex...

I really like these guys. They seem like they would be the type of creature that would ACTUALLY be the sapient race on Pandora from the movie Avatar. Those blue cat people always seemed out of place to me anyway.

The Na'vi are still a pretty cool race, tbh.

I always meant to do a redesign for that movie, never did get around to it...maybe as a summer project...

So... What makes their limbs so flexible?

exo-bio In reply to SomeKindaSpy [2013-08-04 06:31:46 +0000 UTC]

A cartilaginous spine like structure with strong muscles that give it the arm support and flexibility.

When I first saw the yellow one, all I saw was a pile of noodles XD I like their otherwise blank expressions and lack of anthropomorphism though, it should not be possible to tell how they are feeling, as they are aliens.

That is because Gapuri actually are just piles of noodles xD And yeah Gapuri smiles look really weird, I will have to draw some expressions.

Okay, at first, I thought the green one had "frankenstein" style stiches across Jeh's neck. Then I realized it was a necklace!

I always enjoy these little sketches. It's interesting to see the world in someone else's mind coalesce into drawings.

haha I can totally see it! Franken-puri! xD

Me too, sketches are usually my favorite. It's so much more personal in a way, just rough little doodles straight from the brain. I like seeing the lines of people's work too, lineless work looks awesome, don't get me wrong, but there is something about lines I really like.
