Your work makes it easy for me to compliment,
you have some wonderful sky captures,
that are beautifully composed.

Once again thank you. I'm really glad I began to join groups on DA, as after 3 years most of my work was barely seen at all. It really is like night and day.
Take care.

Thank you, that area really is gorgeous. If you're ever in Yellowstone, be sure to walk the upper boardwalk at Mammoth. It's unforgetable.

First I thought there's a small waterfall at the center. Then I realized its not water. Then I thought there's a river and white water on the background but now I'm not sure anymore if there is any water at all. So confused
Great shot anyway

Oh and the "river" you saw is actually just more terraces off in the distance. This photo is actually shot at the edge of a cliff. the white in the background is pretty far away, which is why it all appears to run together like flowing water.

Actually, there is a small waterfall at the center. These terraces are built on and around a hot spring. The minerals that are dissolved in the hot water get deposited here, and form a hard deposit known as travertine. This also forms terraces and ridges and stalagtites in the process.
So what you have here is a bunch of travertine in various forms and shapes, with water flowing over it, making waterfalls and still more stalagtites as it does.

This would be a great HDR image. But it looks great on its own anyways. Good job

Thank you. I did notice that a few people added it to their HDR collections despite it not being HDR. Intriguing!

A great spot, especially on a cold morning. Good job with that exposure. Its so hard to keep that bright white from bleaching out the details.

It really is. I had a number of shots in that location that were completely washed out. I was shocked when this one turned out as good as it did. It pays to take several shots with different settings!

Indeed it does. I will mention though that just before sunrise it is rather easy to get better exposures at this location...and quite amazing too. Cheers!
