Description

The aptly named Dominator is one of the cornerstones of the Vasha Irdin's military might. Most models range from 10 to 20 meters in height, but move and react nearly as swiftly as a human being. Thanks to the neural interface that allows pilots to control the mech directly, piloting a Dominator feels more like wearing armor than steering a machine. Each Dominator is coated with an alloy capable of either refracting or dispersing most energy attacks and a equipped with a powerful kinetic barrier.

More than any other technology, kinetic barriers shape the nature of ground warfare in the galaxy. Deflecting or outright reflecting kinetic energy, these barriers can completely neutralize most physical impacts. When combined with energy-resistant armor, the majority of ranged attacks become ineffective unless part of a sustained barrage.

Because kinetic barriers can cancel each other out, melee weapons equipped with specialized barriers are the most efficient way of inflicting damage. As a result, battles between mechs are typically resolved by close combat.
