Description Milky Way Rainbow - Death Valley,CA 2013

•Del Mar Fair - San Diego Local Photography Competition 2013 : 1st Place in Color Landscapes

This area wasn't to far from stovepipe wells. Couldn't sleep that night for some reason so i woke up around 2:00 a.m. and walked through the desert! I saw that the milkyway was out and about so i took my chance to photograph my first panoramic milkyway. Im so happy with these results!! Just happy that it came out exactly how i imagined in my head. This trip really inspired me even more to get out there and experience life more in nature. I hope to have a lot more trips this year . I believe this image was captured with the settings of 18mm f 3.5 ISO 3200 shutter speed 30sec

This is a single image and my very first milky way shot ever haha so at the moment I didn't know to much about the correct settings or stacking

I did use photoshop for stitching the image and sharpness but the rest was done in lightroom.

Absolutely beautiful, so wonderfully captured! Congrats on the DD! I have to ask, does it look like this with the naked eye? Being able to sleep with this kind of sky in sight would just be so dreamy. It's something I want to experience one day!
