Watercolor & ink, ~3 hoursMan I really loved the Hobbit movie! It really took me back to my childhood, haha. I especially love Ori, the company scribe - what a sweetie! And an artist, so of course I love him.
I tried underpainting on this one - not sure how clearly that comes across, but I'm learning!

Yep! There's a lot of ways to use it (setting mood, etc) but I use it to unify the color of my shadows. Basically, I just picked a purplish tone, painted in where the shadows would be, let it dry overnight, and added the other colors over it.
