She is still young. There is tons of time to be a hero.

Funny you should say that, because I had completely forgotten about that move until someone mentioned it after I posted this comic online.

Now this is impressive. You have shown Rainboe Dash in a very logic and realistic why. The art is amazing, I liked how you were showing her going so fast she glowed and her goggles were burned off.

Great job.
I know of the concern of "peaking", even if I'm no athlete, but I have two words about that concern:
"Screw that."
How do you know you peaked? And why does it have to be "downhill"? Can't you enjoy the view from the top for a little? I know it's a real concern, it eats away thoughts, but it doesn't make it any less silly.
Even then, why not enjoy the rest of the career? Who cares if others think more of X or Y maneuver you pulled off earlier in it? Why not enjoy the time you already have?
It seems Dashie got the point though, and for that I love you forever.
(Yes, I hate the "aged, washed-down RD is sad" pics/fics that come up from time to time.)

SORRY, LONG POST AHEAD.
I did track a while back, and the concept of "peaking" was quite the fear for me. There was always a constant fear of not doing as good as I did before, or doing progressively worse and worse. At the end of one season, I managed to take the same advice you supplied here: "Screw that." I was content with what i'd done and how i'd gone about doing it; I thought i'd enjoy the view for a bit. Next season, though, A new jumper came in, and he bested me in two of three events. It felt pretty bad, and my attitude went from "Screw that" to "AW FUCK NO." It wasn't about beating this new guy. It was about besting myself, proving myself to myself, trying to make my small existence worth something.
I guess what i'm trying to say is that it differs by personality; I felt i was a pretty good jumper(where i was from, anyway), and it gave me confidence. Continuing to build upon it day by day made me feel accomplished. This is why Rainbow Dash is my absolute favorite out of the mane 6.
tl;dr: I know how "peaking" feels, but what you said here is completely right, and i agree nothing short of wholeheartedly. I love Dash.
(I couldn't agree with you more about the washed-up RD stuff. I'd actually be quite sad if she really joined the Wonderbolts; It feels like a large part of her personality would suddenly vanish.
explosivegent, i'm not lying, i've stared at this for a good hour today, and i've revisited this page several times. I love it. It's probably my favorite piece in a long, long, long time. congrats.

I think we all have some fear on peaking, for anyone in any profession. I have a lot of respect for those who strive to do better, even after great accomplishments, just because they want to. I'm glad you liked the comic I want to keep doing better too.

Rainbow Dash constantly pushing herself like this is sweet yet also slightly upsetting, but she enjoys it which is nice.

Ahhh, I was -wondering- why this was marked as 'part two'. Looking forward to more, you've got LOVELY colouring skills. Always a big fan of people who can literally make light.

I like this piece a lot, nice bits of emotion thrown throughout and a very believable story to the image.
