Wonderful job! No one can ever top Reeve's Superman, as far as I'm concerned. He owned the role completely.

I totally agree that C. Reeve was the best in the part. I had a conversation with someone else about this very thing under the drawing, farther down the page - Christopher Reeve is my favorite actor as Superman, though some others did a good job too.

I just read the conversation and totally agree with how awful part III was. I actually thought Routh was a decent Superman/Clark. The fault of that film was in Singer trying to make a sequel to the Reeve films instead of just rebooting. I think Henry Cavill will be good too, but you just can't top CR.

I don't care how many Superman remakes they try to do in film, no one will ever top the late great Christopher Reeve as the Man of Steel! Nicely done!

I totally agree! Many other actors have done a great job portraying Superman, but I feel Reeve was the best.
I'm thinking of making another Reeve-as-Superman drawing.
Thank you for dropping by and leaving comments.

The only other Superman actor I would give credit too would be the late George Reeves who was from "The Adventures of Superman" TV Series". His performance as both Superman & Clark Kent I think set the stage for so many actors after him.
Now if I were to nitpik at anything Chris Reeve did wrong was that he played Clark a little too goofy, like when he accidentally ate dog food in Superman III. (Something they would never do in the comics.) However, Chris really did make you think that Superman could never be Clark Kent to the average person.

I remember watching some of the old black and white George Reeves Superman shows when I was a kid (they were on in re-runs), and I enjoyed those.
I really got a kick out of George Reeves' guest appearance on 'I Love Lucy.' (You Tube video: George Reeves - and Lucille Ball - both as Superman )
You said, "...like when he accidentally ate dog food in Superman III."
I think I've seen all the Christopher Reeve Superman movies but I'm most familiar with part 1, pretty much with part 2, and don't remember the others as much. I don't remember the dog-food eating scene (which is a good thing, maybe, LOL?), though it does sound vaguely familiar now that you've mentioned it.
One of my favorite scenes from C.R.- as- Superman (in part 1, I think it was) is when he rescued a cat stuck in a tree for a little girl.
I'm more a casual Superman fan, not a die-hard type, so I'm not an expert on all things Superman (ditto on Wonderwoman and Bat Man).
In areas of fandom, I'm more knowledgeable about Star Wars (the original trilogy) and actress Marilyn Monroe.

In Superman III (Which was the worst film ever made) Clark returns to Smallville for his high school reunion and meets again his former high school sweetheart Lana Lang, her son and their dog named Buster.
Anyway, there is a scene where they all go out for a private picnic and Clark makes a comment like "Lana this pate is really good!"
LANA: "Pate? I didn't make pate? Oh my God! Clark! That's Buster's dog food!" LOL
I'll admit it was a funny scene when I first saw it, but that was something you would never see Superman (even as Clark Kent) do in the comics.

Okay, yeah, I remember now - I remember him meeting Lana at the high school.
Is this the same one with Richard Pryor, and where he had to fight a super computer or something like that? I loved Christopher Reeve as Superman, but that was a pretty bad movie - no fault of his, though (I also like the actress who played Lana; she went on to play Mrs Kent in the TV series "Smallville").
I remember reading somewhere Reeve tried warning the guy who wrote the story (or directed it?) for that movie that it was awful, but to no avail.

Yeah, I think having Richard Pryor in it was what made it so bad.....
The 4th & final Reeve movie was a little better about what if Superman got involved in getting rid of our nuclear weapons. That was something Reeve wanted to do, and I remember DC Comics played with that story idea a few times as well in Superman Comics.
