Combine it with cards like whispering madness, mindcrank, millstone. You have then a monster with absurdly high attack/defence capable of eliminating foes in 1 blow.

I've read aboutΒ the cardΒ when researching it. I don't play magic, I created this as a mat for someone to use when they play in tournaments.

Wow, this is awesome! That's some really nice detail on the skin, Ezra! Did you use mudbox for that? I finally got a full suite of Maya 2013 discounted, so I'm gonna try to learn mudbox myself.

Man, that's totally awesome. Btw, Golgari is my fav guild in Ravnica

Yes I used mudbox for the textures and most of the sculpting. Thanks for the compliment. I don't know much about Magic the Gathering, I got paid to recreate this monster. I also am using Mudbox 2013, its retopology tools are a lifesaver.

I was wondering, do you know of any good retopology tools tutorials for mudbox 2013, Ezra? I'm going to look for some myself later off google, but I was just wondering if you knew of any that were really good, that really stick out when you think of them. At the moment I'm going to look for tutorials that teach how to import a model from Maya into Mudbox, I assume that it will be an easy task at face value, but somehow I feel that there will be more to it. Such as certain ways the model must be rendered before it is imported to make things easier when in Mudbox.

Ah, that is a shame that you don't play MtG, it's a great game! Your render of the Aberration has actually inspired me to create a creature from Magic too, I'm thinking that I would enjoy creating a Lotleth Troll in Maya.

The guy that hired me to do it told me that they use custom mattes to play the cards on during tournaments.

Are you on facebook? Importing and exporting is like anything else in Maya super easy or Rocket Science. Most of the work day I'm on facebook so that's how I chat. Your going to run into more problems the more complex your models are. I can't remember any tutorials I used, its easy to use retopo.

Love the work, hate the creature (killed me in every format except legacy).

Thanks, I wanted to put the high resolution version up but I can't until the person I created it for gives me the ok... since they paid for it.
