something that you should know for future referencs... Knuckles should NEVER have visible fingers, he's supposed to wear mittens

Why not lol. Never and supposed to are words I do not consider. I prefer the mittens though. But no one had a problem with knuckles in Sonic Boom, they changed his structure and gave him fingers.

"No-one had a problem with knuckles in Sonic Boom..." you haven't seen anybody's opinions on Sonic Boom as a whole, have you? Also this is supposed to represent the Main Series Knuckles, who never wears proper gloves, just mittens.

It is awesome they made such awesome fan film. Their film, their rules.

I'm happy everyone had a hard working attitude and are people that finish what they start. I'm working on my own Sonic fan film now and I really don't want to try and please everyone, but I want to d something different.

Hahaha! I just picked up in the film that Sonic's shoes have the BCS logo on the bottom. Who's idea was that, thats gold!!

ezraprogrammer In reply to jayzap96 [2015-02-15 15:46:12 +0000 UTC]
Your the second person to pick up on that. I don't know who had the idea to do that, the textures were already assigned to the model when I got it. When I modeled Knuckles I can't remember if I kept it the same...

Artist is not supposed to make everything exactly the same. It is nice original thing don't you think?

Indeed, especially on a site called DEVIANT art!

Check out the new Sonic boom series from sega, he has fingers. Also he has fingers shown throughout the comic series.

Megalaser In reply to ezraprogrammer [2014-05-01 14:27:18 +0000 UTC]
yea, but this was supposed to commemorate the games, and yes he has fingers in the comic, but he is usually wearing his boxing glovesΒ

ezraprogrammer In reply to Megalaser [2014-05-02 01:07:47 +0000 UTC]
So he has always had fingers. And sometimes he has his mittens. I think it was required to give him fingers because he could make more gestures that way.

Regardless of what folks say about the film as a whole, the models were pretty beautiful, I thought. Excellent work.

This is amazing! A very creative idea as well on how you made different gloves for him.

Thanks, it was modeled in Maya 2013, the rest of the characters from the fan film were created using Maya 2011.

Ah, would that be the most recommended for 3D modelling in your opinion?
π: 0 β©: 1
ezraprogrammer In reply to TheShad0wF0x [2013-04-24 20:48:05 +0000 UTC]
No, I could never recommend one product over the other. They all have different workflows, I worked with multiple programs and Maya just made sense to me. So explore with student versions if you can, find which one that makes sense for you. You can never look at a model and say hey I know what program they used to make it.

TheShad0wF0x In reply to ezraprogrammer [2013-04-25 15:38:14 +0000 UTC]
True, thanks for the advice though. I'm willing to use whichever would mean sense to me.

Squillig [2013-04-19 23:53:20 +0000 UTC]
Ah yes, Fingers the echidna. I won't lie though, the face looks like a different take on the design and one that actually works very well. Shame we never got to see the face in the movie as it's very well done. As for the fur, this is how Sonic's fur should've been. Looking forward to seeing more of your creations

ezraprogrammer In reply to Squillig [2013-04-20 02:15:37 +0000 UTC]
Thank you. I'm guessing the other animator had his hands too busy to rig the face. That's probably why they didn't include the front of him. Sucks when you work hard on something and it gets cut, but its something you have to get used to. That's why I always let clients know that I want to use the art in my portfolio, that way it isn't a total waste of time. I'm working on the MMPR Fan Film at the moment, check out the trailer when you have a chance.
