I honestly think that the brown parts of Sonic shouldn't be fur.
Otherwise, this is a pretty cool design!

I'm actually creating the fur description at the moment and its an interesting point you bring up. My question is if it would look funny that there is an uneven topology on Sonic cause it would look more puffy on the hair parts... but it would help a bunch with facial animation cause whats killing me now is hair on his mouth and lips..... but another question is that when designing sally, she would have hair on her mouth part bringing back that complication. its really a tough concept to work with. I'm going to try various things like creating some super short dense hair.

yet, it reminds me of ~umbra-rockchick 's style of drawing Sonic, not like a "copy" of the style, but similar~

I seen some of umbra-rockchicks drawings and I liked it and used it as insperation. I didn't like the cut ears and the size of the ears, Sonics over all proportions or color. I tried to design this version with 3D modeling in mind.

He looks a bit on the evil/bad boy side, especially with the gloves.
I really like how he looks with all those extra little quills on his head and back. I also like the spikes on the bottom of his shoes.
If I had to change something about the design, it would probably be the gloves. The colours just don't seem to suit him well.
I would also bring the bottom of his eyes right to the skin tone, instead of leaving blue in between. It doesn't look very good and gives him an appearance of a perpetual squint.
Again, I am very pleased with the overall design and think you did a wonderful job.

I'm going for a more serious Sonic world (PG13).
I wanted to stay away from the Micky Mouse gloves. I wasn't quite sure of what colors to use and I just used the same red that was on his sneakers. What colors do you suggest for his glove and glove strap?
Tails is going to be tough, I gotta keep that childhood innocence in mind.

Yeah, the gloves on most of the SEGA characters are very boring. I would definitely ditch the black, maybe just white with a red strap? Or something with green, to sort of accent his eyes.

Well maybe I made them too dark of a grey color, I didn't intend it to be considered black. Green for the strap is too distracting. Maybe I should make the strap Black.

Yeah, that's not a bad idea. Just play around with it. Light grey would also work.

Just play around with the colours until you find something you like, I suppose.

I ended up keeping the mickey mouse gloves in my current model. But I did add some interesting detail to it.
