Yeah, I'd imagine. Even being at an airport with those kind of planes would be epic!

It might be "artsy-craftsy", but I reckon it really works! I love the angle and the other fighters in the background. Sort of a Top Gun shot!

Thanks. It was a fun picture. I have been scanning F-16 slides that I have taken during the holidays. It is fun too "discover" pitures I had forgotten about. This was taken in March 1985

I like the old stuff I mostly fly from a former USAF base in Germany (Hahn AB), and it's still very much alive with cold war history! It's cool to go and explore what remains of the old base, the bunkers, the hangars, guard towers etc. - and realise not too long ago they housed nukes there!

What is Hahn called now-a-days? I never got to photograph any Hahn F-4's or F-16's I have a bunch in my collection from other people, but I do not post other people's photos here.

It's still called Hahn (or Frankfurt-Hahn for commercial reasons). They've constructed a passenger terminal between the ruins of the Air Base. Still a lot of USAF traffic today though, mostly chartered cargo and troop transports - and occasionally military traffic coming to do practice approaches from nearby Ramstein or Spangdahlem.

Europe must be interesting flying. I was in Scotland and looked at some aeronautical charts. Europe is a busy and small (in air traffic sense) place!

I think the US is a bit more... efficient. Thought the European Union is slowly becoming more "one", some countries are reluctant to give up their airspace or military areas, and it creates fairly inefficient IFR routes.
Flying I find very varied though, I go to anywhere in between Scandinavia and Northern-Africa and there's big differences between airports / countries.

an overlay? Did you shoot this from a prone position/ground level up?

Nothing special was done other than laying on the ramp and shooting up at the jet.

Cool! The geen part is a distortion when I hit full view, the small view is ok. Thanks, thought so. Great Shot.
