they control the SEASONS

Here's some backstory for ya

Long before lunas' banishment, even before ponies where perfected as a race, the gods performed all the necissary regulation of the planet, including the seasons. As Luna held the moon and celestia moved the sun, so did Temperus control the seasons by himself. He soon grew tired of having no one to talk to and ventured out to the other gods for companionship. Upon meeting with Celestia and Luna he found they had created a form a life that closely resembled the alicorns. He was fascinated by them and tried to use them a conversation point at every chance he got. However the sisters where not done with them and found any praise upon them to be insulting much as an artist looking at her own work.
Temperus left, dejected, and decided that if he could make them better he could gain their attention and began his attempts to recreat the ponies for his own studies. No sooner had he managed his first attempt had he suffered from his failure. He found that he was split into 4 different ponies mirroring the sisters designs. Each found they held the ability to control a different season. After only a few months Temperus found he couldn't stand himself and the 4 ponies began to destroy the lands surrounding equestria with their struggle for dominance.
The sisters soon intervened and where shocked to find that temperus had created three perfect, unique ponies, and as if to mock them, in their design. The sisters barely kept themselves from coming to blows with the divided temperus and instead subjected him and his fragments to a deep sleep. After fixing the damage he had caused the land the awoke each one after another to see what they had done and the work required to fix it. They also made no small note of how angry they where at his plagerism. In their shame and hopes of redemption in the eyes of the sisters they gave gifts to the ponies of the land to help make them more complete.
Solstice gave the ponies warmth, allowing them to survive in the cold. (Spring) gave them fertility, so they may grow themselves. (Autumn) gave them curiosity, so they may learn on their own. And (winter) gave them indiference, so they may make the difficult decisions ahead.
With their gifts granted and the sisters with control of the seasons, the 4 went into a deep sleep till the day the world needed them. In the present a miss fired spell (NOT twilights fault this time) has awaken them. They find themselves surrounded by the ponies in their prime but now have no purpose. What does the future hold for the 4...
