Facing an embarrassing dare with certain shame as the only recourse, Rainbow Dash reluctantly agrees to do the “Ladybugs Awake” dance in front of all of her friends. However, whilst doing ‘a little shake’, RD significantly underestimates the bounce of her booty, resulting in a slight wardrobe malfunction. Hearing the distinctive snaps of two nickel-plated brass buttons giving way, her cheeks flush rosey pink as a particularly cool draft runs up her onesie. It may have been overcast on this cool mid-summer train ride up to the Frozen North, but all of our little ponies saw a full moon that night.

In actuality, those buttons shouldn’t have gave at all. Cadence may have helped them out a bit after RD said the “Ladybugs Awake” dance was for babies... which is a lie. I mean, come on, it’s a perfectly acceptable and mature alternative to a proper hoofshake. RD was clearly in the wrong, right?

This scene in particular takes place in a more “True Faustian” ideal of the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic universe. In this take on our beloved world, Twily and Cadence aren’t alicorns. Instead, they remain as unicorns, both still perfectly capable rulers. One thing I had a lot of fun with was the pajamas for our pones. Given a simple description, I went ahead and designed what I thought would be suitable nightwear for each pony. Twilight’s was pretty easy; a Starswirl themed design. Pinkie’s was pretty fun to come up with; hot pink hoofsie (onesie) with a balloon pattern. RD’s was a little more complex, though… I know she’d probably opt to wear nothing at all, as per normal, but if she had a set of PJ’s that looked cool enough, she’d likely jump in them. A Wonderbolts theme with some stormclouds and rainbows seemed pretty neat, so I think that works for her.

Overall, had a lot of fun with this one. Hopefully, I’ll have some more pieces for you fine pone-loving folks in the next few days. Until then, keep it classy, ponefriends.
