Description
On a chance drive down US24 east of Topeka, I caught this westbound empty coal drag on UP's Kansas sub holding track on Main #2, sitting idle underneath a decades-old trestle that has probably seen six or seven figures' worth of trains over the years.Canon EOS 30D

Thanks. I quit using the "frames" for a few weeks back when I came back to dA a few months ago, but didn't like the results I was getting without them, so I brought them back.

I meant this bridge construction making a frame for the train, but frames of the photos are also appreciated.

It's ok.
KI'm sorry for my imprecise English, but I haven't a lot of opportunities to use it lately.

No worries. At least you have a reason. I encounter so many people who speak it as their native language that can't grasp the mechanics of it half as much as you do.
And I did miss a pretty easy context clue with the quotes.

For me maligning one's own language is like spitting on a graves of people who gave their life so we can speak freely. But I'm from Poland, I can be a bit too sensitive.

I'm pretty familiar with that rail line, that's a great shot.

Thanks. Back when I used to live out west in Hays, every time I drove out east, I made it a point to try and drive US 24 between Topeka and Lawrence every chance I could get, mainly because it allowed for shots like this on the fly. Of course, now I live in the KC metro area, and I get to shoot practically whatever I want (although a lot less frequently the last few years).

Outstanding shot!! Looks that bridge was built in 1957 if I have tracked down the right one! bridgehunter.com/ks/shawnee/bh…

Actually, that's not the correct one. In fact, the RoW goes underneath the traffic viaduct on that particular structure. I believe what I shot is here: www.google.com/maps/preview#!d…

Hmmm Have to do more homework! I am curious how old that bridge is!

There's a date cut into the truss across the top that I believe says '1905'.
