Description More from the maintenance yard. A handful of more modern traction sits dead on yard rails, and one looks like it's in for a major heart transplant.

Check out the "porches" on the SD40-2 (#7172) in the background. Where's my barbecue at? I think Chris has it...

Very interesting view... Though at my place, when I see an engine taken apart like this, there's also a large claw tearing out the guts

Well, luckily for us, this isn't a scrapyard, though their deadlines are very close by .

Looks like they also have one of those GP30 rebuilds there as well.

Yeah, I know what you mean about those SD40's and their long nose and tail decks. I used to tell the crews that they ought to set up a grill and a couple of lawn chairs whenever dispatch jammed them in the hole for a two-hour meet.

Or like Sully said, have a hot tub party on the running boards.

You could seriously have a party complete with a hot tub on the running boards of an SD40.

Scrounge up a few of em. I know a bunch of people who would be willing to party on a freight train!

Let's do it. I'll come to NYC over Spring Break, we'll find a dead line, and we'll go after it.
