Description
I've tried several times to get AmTrak's Southwest Chief at night in my hometown of Garden City. Apparently I need to keep trying. This was the only standing shot that was worth a damn, and I should've probably cleaned my sensor before doing any night exposures.

Here, a pair of AMTK P42DCs lead by #131 sit idle at the Garden City, KS AmTrak depot while a handful of passengers entrain/de-train the eastbound Southwest Chief. It's nearly midnight, it's dusty and windy as hell (plus it's cold as balls since it happens to be January) and the westbound comes through in approximately 7 hours. The shot took some serious clean-up in RAW editing to be tolerable, and clearly there's a dust problem afoot, even with a tight aperture.

Next time, I'll just set closer to the damn right-of-way.
