edit - or was this more brush work to achieve those colour changes?
thanks

more brush work gives you more detail. overlay colors give you other color options...

Just out of interest, where you have switched the overall colour values from the browns to the yellow/green hues, was this done in the contrast/ brightness editing that you did?
Thanks

no, this was done using overlay colors, and hue changes

Okay I just read the hole Tut and If got some questions.
1. could u upload the steps a little bit bigger?
in that size it's really hard to tell the differences between 3&4
2. Could u explain The tip under Step 3 a little bit more?
I think my English is not good enough to understand u right away.
It is a Great tutorial and You are definitely my favorite artist.

OK. I understood almost all the tutorial, except by coloring part (steps 5-7)
First question: What brushes do you use on adding details?
2nd question: How do you design/modify the sky around steps 5-6?
3rd question: How do you reshape the energy drone on step 5?
4th question: How do you do to modify the ambient light (Steps 6-7)?
This tutorial is amazing!

OK.

I use caligraphic brushes
I keep airbrushing the clouds untill I get something convincing
I make smaller details all over the drones body
I use the overlay layer mode
Muchas gracias!

So, you made the color of let's say the robot in the same layer on which it was drawn? Because I wonder how that would work, without destroying the details of the work again. Anyways thank you!

FacundoDiaz In reply to The-Crooper [2010-12-10 21:38:01 +0000 UTC]
you can always choose to use layers or not, its up to you. In this case I did use them
