Funny story - I was introduced to deviantART by The Blackblood Alliance comic by KayFedewa , so many years ago. Probably for many of the artists I grew up knowing, were in some way inspired by Kay — whether we were telling collaborative stories together, or drawing up new characters for ourselves. I had my grandparents buy a signed copy of the comic, and it's certainly one of my more sentimental possessions.
This painting is a tribute to that. And to all the fan art I made when I was young.

Thank you so much! You know, it's funny now - I was happy with the piece until I finished it. Now I sit back and think, "I know I can do better next time". Hopefully I carry that determination forward and I succeed.

Thank you! Recently I've been obsessed with artists' processes, because I know when I do art, I do things completely at random. Some squiggles here, blippy blops there, and either I love the marks I made or I think they were a mistake. While watching another artist livestream a painting of a cheesecake, as they detailed the crumbs, I realized they were bipblooping paint willy-nilly, just like me! Anyway, thought it'd be fun to share - this is a series of shwoopity-smaps and squigglies, but it turned out all right.

It's also amazing how random squiggles and blops around with the right colour could make an amazing piece, I'm still slowly learning to do that

Art Cycle is one of my favourite graphs. It demonstrates how when you are critical of your own work and see your flaws, it's because you are actively striving to be better. I know if I could do this painting over again, it would turn out better the second time - but I don't have patience for that LOLOL!

They are really fun!
Especially if you do it with one of your oldest most memorable art, you won't even be made even if the old art was terrible and cringey because the new one is just that improvements
I also love seeing people that does that, it's so beautiful to see
