Description For fun between friends, fine  Is fine and all if no harm is meant. Just be sure your friend does not get hurt by it.

Using it to describe people online for not being so talented as you  , foolish!
Calling people NOOB makes you seem as a immature ; unintelligent ; narrow-minded fool. How about saying " John is not so good at video-games , but that is OK"
If people go online and are terrible at the game , let them! Not everybody was born perfect.

I am that person who say GG (Good game) to everybody no matter how they played.

I do dislike sour losers. But that is another story.

Keep the discussion clean.

Well, how about using the word as a joke? How about using it when talking about people who annoy the crap outta you AND suck at the game?
IMO, there's a difference between a person who is not a very good player and a noob. I partially agree with your point though.

Joke is a thin line which is hard to see . If people talk trash the option of ignoring them always exists. That or bite yourself so you do not start trash-talking backk. Nobody suck at anything , except babies who suck on tits.
You can either be great or bad at things. Like I am sure you are terrible at chemestry or Rocket science .

The proper term is still : You are not great at this game , and that is OK
