Description
I thought I'd upload my first real computer colour thing, so that hopefully years from now we can all look back and see how far I've come.Scribbled and painted in Autodesk Sketchbook Express, which I'm really loving at the moment. It came with my tablet.
Windswept is the name of a little Nightelf Druid character of mine on World of Warcraft, which belongs to Blizzard Entertainment.
I'm totally aware that I know nothing about lighting, and need to study it hardcore. But aside from that, any tips?

Hey Faide I totally suck at the computer, but I think the lighting on her skin is spot on! Only thing I'd criticize on, is the thick outline. Since you're using color now, I think it would look much nicer without the outlines, and just have color difference be your lines. See you next time <3

I'm still learning the tablet ropes myself, but when I need help with lighting, I usually try to find a scene similar to what is in my head and copying what the shading appears there, it really helps my confusion.

Aah, that sounds like a good idea! Thankyou! How do you go about finding a similar scene?

the best advice for this image is, I would log into the game, plant your character where the best light ambiance that you had in mind is (for instance, the deep blues and greens in ashenvale) and then putting a fire in front of them and taking a screenshot. It should give you the same effect as what you're aiming for.
