I LIKE COMMENTS This started as a sketch where I was trying to show how drakoon and their elven creatures (in this case Ki and Eqaetz) are linked in the mind. I got the idea that to do this, I could show them looking in the same direction. So I started sketching and with a little advice here and there from classmates, I got a sketch I liked and inked it. This is another of my 'in between everything else' works.
The characters say 'Sloveniska' in case you're wondering. I'm slowly running out of names for my drakoon art lol. They're getting laaame.
Inked traditionally with Pilot PX500 Extra Fine and digital colour in Photoshop Elements 5.0.
Traditional inking gives such a lovely texture to art.

Is that small, winged canine a falfox or falcolf? Didn't think they would be so small (or is the Drakoon big?) This makes a great title page (even if it was just a worked on sketch XD)

When they're small they're falfoxes and falcolfs have stripes all over, which falfoxes don't.

Sorry, it's taken me forever to get back to this. I really love the movement in this piece, the way Equaetz is almost dancing as he turns his head. He looks very fluid and lovely. He also looks as if he is smiling.
Ki and his falfox look as if they are both snarling at whatever is catching their attention. I really like the falfox's wings and the 3D look to Ki's breastplate armor. Very nice indeed!
Only question I would have is about the relative heights of Ki and Equaetz - the way Ki's legs hang so that his feet are below the line of the horse's belly makes me think Equaetz is very small - maybe 14 hands like the Arabian Raffles, or maybe smaller yet, since Ki is not a terribly tall man. I'm five foot eight inches and my mare was 15.1 hands on a good day and you could not see my feet under her belly. Then again, I am short-legged. My good friend has legs about 3 inches longer than mine even though we are the same height, and she needs a 16+ hand horse to look in proportion to her mount. Me, I can ride a small Arabian and not look ridiculous.

lol well, the answer to that is that I suck at drawing Eqaetz properly in scale to Ki - Eqaetz is supposed to be like 17hh, but he aaaalways looks like 14hh whenever I draw him with Ki. It's fricking annoying. If I actually did draw them to scale, Ki and Eqaetz would probably look a bit hilarious, or like a jockey on a race horse, 'cus Eqaetz is taaall lol. Thanks!
