Description
Hard to believe that this was thumbnailed way back in February! Finally though, it’s done! Huzzah!
Hours: Oh man, I really don’t know. At least ten, probably more like twenty. This one was a quickie compared to the last one!
Layer Count: 65, in five groups with five layers ungrouped. (Quite small compared to other pictures!)

Finally done! It was fun doing a mainly monochromatic colour palette, though this is in fact a blue-and-orange complimentary palette - my favourite kind! If you pay attention, you’ll see that most of my illustrations are either blue-and-orange or red-and-green. I’m not sure if I have ever done a yellow-and-purple palette - it’s not a palette I like much, though I think these colours are fine and dandy apart. Purple is one of my favourite colours - however my favourite use in it for art is as a shading colour. I didn’t use any here - my shading colour today was a very dark tealy blue. My shading colour choice changes with the composition.
I did all the shading by hand on this one, instead of using the magic wand tool like I usually do. I believe it left a more painterly, hand done touch. (Maybe.) At least it somewhat compensates for the digital character ink that I did on this. (Ew! I must look at this to remind myself how much I hate digital inking before I try it again next time. Sure it turned out nice, but EW. Hours and hours of ARRRRGH. XD)
Special thanks to for her helpful critique!

I just came across your art and I love how there are many small details added in and in a way, meaning behind this beautiful work of yours ^^ I am I dunno, in LOVE with the falcolf (if I'm not mistaken) especially since my main oc/character is also a wolf with wings. Well drawn!
I love art that is thoroughly described in this way (specific location, etc)

Eeee! Yep that's a falcolf! Thank you so much!!! They're actually very different from wolves anatomically, though they still kind of have a wolfish look to them. I need to post an educational thing on them sometime, it's on my to do list.
I like describing my art well, because a lot of it comes from different places on my world and it's a VAST place, just like our real world, so its locations deserve due credit. I'm glad you like my stuff!
My next illustration will be an urban scene, there's a WIP in my scraps if you want to see a preview.

Will do! Yeah lots of drawings based on or in a part of the world are quite interesting! I'll have to watch for the educational thing, and of course, and yes, since their in a way our own characters/ species it would be quite cool to see how it's different OuO

Awesome work my friend ! I detail of the mountains is brilliant I feel like I can feel that stone. The gradient with the lighting and sky make the air seem thinner and colder. I'm constantly floored by your big epic place shots, Rimer is so real

Oh my gosh thank yoooou!
I try my best, I don't think I illustrate it often enough for it to seem really real, at least for me visually (though it's perfectly real in my head obviously haha) but thank you!!!
I need to do more landscapes haha.

I keep leaving this open in my browser meaning to comment on it and now I'm actually going to do it! 8D This is an absolutely beautiful piece! Definitely one of my top favorites of yours. Everything looks so sharp and clean-lined and the shading looks great. And I really love the composition. I usually don't pick up on things like this but the sharp triangular shapes together with the colors really makes that stark high-altitude cold-place feel. And then the characters are arranged well and I like the look of them. So yes this is excellent work all-around and I love it :>
