I realized I haven`t posted any canon for a while so... (I`m still working on your commishes I swear qwq)

Shenzi was just on her way back to the Priderock after the evening border patrol was finally over. Scar became more careful than ever lately and ordered to send group after group to the borders to control both intruders and escapers. He wanted to keep his lands in control all day and all night, he even started to sleep outside, on the peak of the Priderock and his sleep was very restless. His closed eyes were moving under the quivering eyelids and his ears moved back and forwards while he slept. Every now and then he woke up, moving his head up to see what was the cause of this or that hyena`s chuckle and snicker...
This evening was nothing special, just long and tiring road along the Eastern border from the Embamba canyon to the former Elephant graveyard and up to Mirihi forest, to where Scar exiled all the leopards from the Pridelands. They were causing too much trouble lately and also Scar didn`t want any other predator to hunt HIS prey.
Banzai and other hyenas Shenzi took in her group were laughing and mumbling behind their leader as always. They discussed nothing really important, some jokes about their king or some tales everyone knew was just a story made up on the go. They always tended to be optimistic even if things didn`t go well. That was the hyena way to always laugh your problems away. That`s what Shenzi`s been taught too, though sometimes she thought she just wasn`t enough hyena to do the same. Shenzi sighed and looked down. The barren earth gave each of her steps a dusty cloud. She looked up and glanced at the dark and massive Priderock. It looked especially dull with the background of the greenish cloudy evening sky.
Banzai caught up with Shenzi and was about to ask what`s troubling her, but suddenly a loud whimper pierced their ears and echoed through large barren fields of once green and flourishing Pridelands. Shenzi and Banzai exchanged glances and the group rushed to the Priderock.
Once they got to the entrance, they saw Scar overhanging the hyena who was lying on the belly and holding the bleeding cheek. Scar looked furious. His right paw`s claws were covered in fresh blood. Shenzi and others got closer. Scar looked down at the lying hyena and then turned his crazy look at Shenzi.

"Idiots! Useless fleabags! I`ll rip you all in million pieces and feed you to the buzzards!" shouted the king, stepping away from the scratched hyena and moving towards the matriarch.

Shenzi stepped back at shock, still wondering what exactly happened and not believing in what she saw. Banzai, standing right behind her looked at the damaged clan member and let out a quick "What did you-" before Scar jumped towards and let out a thundering roar right in Banzai`s face. Everyone gasped and jumped back, some of the hyenas let out a nervous chuckle. Shenzi took a step between Banzai and Scar and the king turned his angered face to her.

"Wasn`t it clear when I said to send your best to this mission?! It IS the most important task I gave you and your brainless clan can`t do ANYTHING right!"

"Finding your daughter is like looking for a galago in a jungle! She can be anywhere, she even can be dead! My clan-" Shenzi didn`t finish the sentence, Scar impatiently interrupted her:

"Your clan does nothing! You are a bunch of lazy furbrains, all you do is eating MY prey and living in MY lands! If it weren`t for me, you`d still have been eating dust back at the Elephant graveyard!"

"Like we aren`t eating dust here..." mumbled Banzai, but luckily for him Scar didn`t hear that.

"Let me remind you" suddenly loudly said Shenzi "If it weren`t for us - you`d still be Mufasa`s shadow" Shenzi grinned evilly and stepped to Scar. The king's face straightened in astonishment, he wanted to defend himself but the matriarch continued, even more louder so the clan members could hear too: "If it weren`t for us, your lionesses would have left you or killed you" she took another step, while Scar moved back, "If MY CLAN wasn`t here, you`d be all alone, vulnerable, desperate and weak!" Hyenas chuckled again, but now in an agreement with Shenzi`s words, nodding and looking at their king with hungry eyes. Shenzi took another step and Scar with his mouth open looked back, several hyenas glanced down at him from the high rocks.
"As a leader of my clan, I will NOT tolerate you treating us like dirt! Think of hundreds of us attacking you at once as soon as you wanna hurt anyone again" Shenzi bared her teeth and the fluff on her back raised. Hyenas moved closer to the lion, surrounding him, scarred hyena stood up and now looked evily at Scar too, the blood was still dripping from their cheek.

Scar didn`t believe his eyes, it seemed he saw how many hyenas there were in the clan only now, when they suddenly turned against him. How dared they! They must obey, he was their king! But now he really didn`t have any choice but step back while they still haven`t cornered him at all.

"Alright! Alright! But don`t think I will forget that little outburst of yours so easily! " Scar said quickly, and slipped past Shenzi and several hyenas. He now saw how desperately he needed someone of his own kind to be on his side. And he luckily knew just the right one lioness to help him with this hyena problem...
