well that took it's time did it not?But, with no further ado here's the new issue of "Twists and Turns"
We are just taking a first step into the backstory of Discord.
Will it be good? Will it be bad? Well...I have no idea XD

Okay, where the hell did everyone get this ridiculous idea that Star Swirl eventually became Discord?

Probably because:
a) Discord and Star Swirl are both ridiculously talented with magic
b) at the end of season 3, Star Swirl's unfinished spell ended up causing lots of chaos, yet was never finished. (I think that was maybe the turning point, seeing so much chaos caused by him)
c) Twilight's Star Swirl costume had a grey beard, much (okay, that may be stretching it) like Discord.
d) both existed long ago, so long ago in fact, that they don't bother saying whether or not Discord was there in Star Swirl's time ('cause it's likely we would've heard something about Star Swirl trying to stop Discord).
That's all that I could think of.

a) So are most of the powerful figures in Equestria.
b) /Twilight/ caused all that chaos, not Star Swirl. Star Swirl scrapped that spell because he couldn't get it to work right. Which means he never had any intention of ever letting it be used.
c) (You're right, you are stretching it) Discord's beard is supposed to be a goat's goatee, you know the whole, mix of a bunch of different animals thing.
d) Every villain or super power in Equestria existed "long ago" or "a thousand years ago" which means absolutely nothing except that historical figures lived a long time ago. O_O shocking! That or Celestia just likes to round. Heck, for all we know, it was Star Swirl's idea to have Celestia trap Discord in stone. I mean he was obviously around Celestia and Luna a lot, considering they seemed to know him and he has his own wing in the archives.

Those are just a few of the reason, the costume is a stretch but i'll allow it.
Also:
-starswirl is the one that created the time travel spell that twilight used in "it's about time" and discord used his magic to go back in time with twilight to his first riddle in "return of harmony" that's a pretty good heads up there

... You really went with the "Discord is Starswirl the Bearded" theory?
Dear, you realize that doesn't fit, that Discord himself states he is aeons old? That and if this was the case, all mention of Starswirl the Bearded would have been wiped from history.

I will give you that this is a very interesting comic series so far... though I admit I feel some of the characters are out of character if you know what I mean. Take Princess Celestia and how you're playing her the love sick filly over Discord.

still yeah there are some bumps along the road...but i'll stick to my theory ^^
for celestia, or at least my version, i made her a little lovesick since, after thousands of years, she 's now free from the solemn mask that she always wears, she's being honest and going all out with it...
ofcourse when time comes she'll still be royal in public occasions...most of the time

Where I was getting at dear was the fact that when Discard says that "this is the most fun I've had in aeons" there really no point or reason for him to be lying about that.

yeah i know that...still aeons also mean "eternity" and "forever" it's could just be like he's saying "it's been soo long" and using aoens to just mean a random long time.
all i hope is to see a good episode and not something to f**k things up XD

Discord is a manipulator and a deceiver, yet that doesn't mean such individuals always lie. You see for lying to be used effectively it needs to be used at the right time.Any good manipulator knows dear that you don't always have to lie and sometimes you can speak truthful while still decieve.

could it be possible...? could discord really be starswirl the bearded? i know very little about starswirl, only that he was one of the only powerful ponies in his time, other than celestia and luna...could it be true that somehow, he was turned from an unicorn into an dragoneqeuus? but then how could he have gained control over reality itself... i will have to investigate further into this headcanon and get to the bottom of starswirl's dissapearance...

headcanon not accepted. I'm sorry but I already have an origin story for the elements of harmony and discord is not something that is created, discord is the one constant in the world, it can never be defeated or removed, it has always been there and will always be there.

It seems that Discord wouldn't really fit the role of a universal constant of chaos or entropy. He doesn't create true chaos, he just breaks all the natural laws for his own amusement. However, having a "chaos constant" is an excellent idea -- I just think that if there was an embodiment of true chaos, it's goal would be simply to return Equestria's universe to a perfectly chaotic state -- a even distribution of nonparticulate quantum soup at a constant temperature and density. It is my opinion that Discord more accurately fits the role of a powerful magician gone completely mad.

that is Discords goal though, he wants all of Equestria to fall into pure chaos (or he did before he was reformed and I didn't really like that when it became canon). Yea he gets a kick out of it, but why shouldn't he?

My point was that "Discordian" chaos isn't true chaos, it's just a randomized bending/breaking/reversal of the natural laws, and it seems to fit the type of thing an utterly insane wizard would do. While Discord does an excellent job creating uncertainty, I think a universal chaos constant would seek only the entropic heat-death of the entire universe.
