I liked FF9 a lot, and every now and then I kick myself in the face because I don't draw enough fanart. Well, here's to catching up on old but still cool things. Eiko wasn't my most favorite character in the game, but darned if I don't like cute girls in baggy pants. And hell, while I'm at it I might as well practice backgrounds too.The perspective is off in a lot of places, and the clouds aren't as good as danimation2001 clouds, but eh... what can I say. I'm still learning.
.5mm mechanical pencil + cardstock paper = 2 hours
Photoshop 7 + mouse = 6 hours
total = 8 hours
Feels like longer than that.
EDIT: She's not naked on her bottom half, that's actually supposed to be this pink tight pants she's wearing... stupid skin-tone pants

ff9, truely one of the best ff games ever, vivi was my personal favorite character, i never really used eiko, with dagger in the party she was mostly useless, excellent art ^^

Screw what the rest say about your background, it's got a nice charm to it that's very appealing to me. As one other said, yea, it should have some warmer highlights, closer to the foreground. She stands out too much. Also, ground her a little more, with some sharper shadow around her feet. I can see the cast shadow from her weapon, but it's near to non-existent at her feet.
As for her controversial pink pants... Part of the reason is because your level of shading dropped off. You have a much stronger contrast between your lights and darks on all the other materials, and the pink is relatively flat, in comparison. Also might try increasing the saturation level a hair. I think it'll just take some tweaking and playing around to get it right. '_'
I am so digging the blue and green shadows. And, of course, the energetic lines. Do'n't be so timid [it looks like you tried cleaning up, around the bow and hair]. It makes it more stiff/static, when you do that.

very nicely done, i do like the fact that it still looks like a drawing moogle rocks, and cute too. i like the background, but it could use a bit of smoothing out
heh. it's just that the shading on the figure is nice and smooth and the bg is so so. just me being picky, but it would make it look better. great colors that u picked, they're definately like the game. she was a cool character, but i thought her pants were a bit darker *cough* lmao. so they wouldn't look so much like her skin, tsk tsk

Every thing looks really kick ass but i think the mountains look a little bit out of place, they look like a sketch more then a finish product but thats no big deal i guess.

Kawaii!! I loved Eiko (Kuja ruled though...definatly do him sometime!!). The bg is great, I love the clouds....and that moogle is just....well..*takes and runs away*..O.o! The only thing that bugs me is the bow. Dun know why, it just does.

It doesn't look like she's wearing pants to me.. you can see her belly button, and there's no line below it indicating that she's wearing any sort of pants, flesh tone or not.

HOLY COW!!!! You did a cg of my favorite game, Final Fantasy.
Final Fantasy 9 is not my favorite, but I liked a lot. I don't know why the biggest part of people said they were disapointed with ff9. Saying that ff6, ff7 and ff8 were thounsands of miles better. I'm not saying that these ff were worst, but better I can't say that too. FF9 is a game that have lots of secrets, (I know them all), there's a boss in a paradise of chocobos that is more dangerous then the final boss, is very hard to kill that shit. Whatever, ff9 never was so popular like ff7 and ff8, I don't know why, but whatever.
Your pic rulez, the colors are great as ever, my favorite chara is Amarant, Eiko's cool too. Can't figure what places of the game are those in your pic.

The colors are very... bright. Disneyish, almost, but I guess it works for a video game. *shrug* Certainly adds to the cuteness brought in by the Moogle. But is there a reason her face and stomach are two REALLY differing shades of pink?

I never really had the chance to play FF VII, so so far, my favourite PSOne "Final Fantasy" title would have to be FF IX. I loved it because it was so simple and comforting. Not to mention the depth of the story. Instant , since there's a cool moogle. Although, I would think that he'd have a letter instead of a spoon, but I can't forget that it's her moogle.

okay! here i go. There are a few things i don't like. I don't want to be negative but i'm trying to be honest. I think that's more helpful. I like the blue in the backround a lot, but she doesn't look like she fits. I think you could've given her a lot of blue undertones and shit...like how you did with her ribbon. The sky looks so dark that i think she should have darker tones. Less vibrant. I always love the way you make metal shiny. So i love her shoes. I like the detail in the ground. That's great. And her shadow is accurate, too. i like that. Her hair isn't blue. it's purple. If i recall correctly. and it's so neon it kinda hurts my eyes. but it's really just the colors that bother me. I think she's drawn perfect. I just thought the blues in the backround coulda come into play. Ummmm....i personally love the clouds and wish i knew how to do them. they kind of look a little too real at first glance, but then fit in nicely. I think the bricks should be less red to fit in with the landscape. More brown, the highlights less red. But i know you like it shiny. The only other thing i find iffy is the persepective in some places, but you already addressed that. And oh yeah, kupo!!!
oh and yeah, good job on the face. your faces get more and more deep. you = are changing in a good way. 'specially with eyes.
oh yeah, and i didn't even bother telling you how much i like your folds because i ALWAYS like your folds. Like...unspoken thing. You never do them bad. ever. in my opinion.

Another great pic Matt. Although you say some of the clouds look off, I would have to disagree. I really like the cloud effects on the right side... I love the little ripple effects. The only complaint I would have ((and this is me trying to sound all artsy and such)) but I think the only thing that might be off is the colouring of the bricks...... (yes, I know it may sound really fucking stupid to you) but I think if you added a little more blue (or grey) to them to tone down the red a bit more......
....yeah, thats it....... I'm done with the bad, onto the good.
I really love the costume (Why can't more cute girls wear those in everyday life?) and the BG hills are really nicely done. *I wanna visit there! X3* and the lineart is topnotch, as usual. I hope that I didn't sound like a jerk with this crap-tacular cratique ^^!! but I thought I should share that since (from what I have read in your journals) you are always open for honest critiques.....
