So I have this super simple method to making fur/tails now my handwriting is DREADFUL so I will write the steps here!1. Draw a super simple tail with the colors wanted. Trust me, it wont look like much at first.
2. Fluff it up, here I am using brush with the density up, and the dilution and blending very low and just fluff it how you like.
3. From here out I lock the layer, and shade it a bit (I use low density airbrush, and smooth it out) then using the brush, only higher density and kinda make it look more furry.
4. Here I put another darker shade, just a bit lower than the previous.
5. Here I go even darker, but it is concentrated towards the edges of the fur.
6. Finally, I add some light done with low density airbrush, and fan it out a bit with the brush. In this case I used a pale yellow.

Hey, im having issues how do you get the fluff so nice on number 2? im a noob when it comes to drawing fur so i have no idea, i've tried it over 10 times now it just is impossible, can i get some help? Thanks in advance.

Yeah i kinda figured out, i just needed som practice to make it look better ^^ and your art made me get an own artstyle because i tried making yours, so i am really happy ^^ Thanks for the help tho

Finally, a fur tut I can understand! I usually never draw fur with any dynamic pattern/definition like this, so my tails look like floating, movable, extremely long and discolored sausages. Thanks so much!

How do you make the fluff? Is that a special brush or something, because I can't get those perfect lines?

I just used a paintbrush on some of the settings listed! I just flick out the lines quickly, lots of hitting undo really, if that makes sense

lots of the fluffy look is achieved through the pressure sensitivity from a tablet, though i know many artists do good work with mouses but id recommend trying it to the best of your ability with a mouse but not expecting a 1:1 result

It's not a brush, but a blotmap. Glad I looked under blotmaps and textures, too!
