Description
**IMPORTANT**
I have been getting comments about whether or not using liquid nails is safe. I don't know. If you're not comfortable using it, don't use it. I used it and I'm ok, but I very rarely wear them. I would not suggest wearing them frequently. Furthermore, The liquid nails worked alright at first, but I found the teeth would fall off after a bit. I'm still trying to find a way to adhere the teeth to the retainer successfully. I have tried hot glue and super glue, neither of which worked. I will update if I find a more successful adhesive. Thank you, take care, and be safe.
**IMPORTANT**
Here's a tutorial I whipped up on how to make fake teeth for cosplay
I apologize if anything is spelled wrong or if I misused grammar, I didn't really proof read it

**EDIT**
If you are german one of my watchers found these thermopellets on a german site! It's here if you want it

hmm... well i would consult your dentist/orthodontis about that since I'm not an expert. If it's only BEHIND your teeth what you can do is make a sort of half retainer, that covers the front of your teeth and only slightly hooks around the back. It wont fit as snugly but it will still work

I love tromping around deviantart and then suddenly come across a familiar face, only to sit there squinting at it for a couple minutes until I realized, hey! I do know this kid! X3

Hey there... can I get these pellety things at a walmart? I don't think Dad would be to keen on me dragging him to a dental store when I'm already bugging him to go to fancy wig and accessory stores for cosplay...

Dad doesn't want to make any online purchases that we can't pay for with a money order... he doesn't want to use the credit card.

Uhm, just testing this. I kinda made the whole thing too thick and now it gets all drooly in my mouth and they don't really fit. Is there a good way to make it thinner again? Or is it not possible?
I've tried resculpting it lots of times by holding it under hot water :/
Thanks on beforehand!

at this point i would say you would need to sand it down a bunch or start from scratch again. good luck!

Ah, it's alright now. I kinda put it in boiling water for a few seconds, and it returned to a mold-able lump again. They turned out pretty cool.
I used plastic-glue, which kinda works just fine!

This seems to be the best ttutorial I found XD
Whats the correct name of the material you used for the retainer?
I'm from Germany so it's hard fror me to find anything similar to these little pearls...
I can't buy them from that webpage you mentioned because the shipping would cost around 30-40 $

oh my, that's unfortunate :/ They're called "Thermoplastic fitting pellets" (I'm not sure what that would be in german?) You could try asking a dentist. Good luck! Let me know if you have anymore problems

Hey, I'm so happy! I found these pellets on a german page!
([link] )
Now I would like to know how much gram I need to order
They have 100g, 500g or 25 kg XDDD

Faxen In reply to xXrainbowflowerXx [2012-06-11 21:01:27 +0000 UTC]
I'm only familiar with the metric system (because america's dumb XD), but a large handful should be enough. 100g might be enough, but to be safe you might want to get 500. That way you can have extra

xXrainbowflowerXx In reply to Faxen [2012-06-12 09:47:17 +0000 UTC]
I could also get 200 g XD (2 x 100 g ;D )
Why don't you tell me in your system? Maybe thinternet can "translate" XDDDDD

Faxen In reply to xXrainbowflowerXx [2012-06-12 20:08:12 +0000 UTC]
ah yes well 100g is about 3 ounces which looks about right... but I agree I think 200g would be safer

I hope you can help me! I got the pellets from dental distortions and I have put them in the heated water but they have not turned clear or softened. I tried heating them(in water) in the microwave but no luck that way either! What else can I do??

Faxen In reply to CSatlantic1999 [2012-04-02 03:58:51 +0000 UTC]
did you test the water to see what temperature it's at? I'm guessing the water isn't hot enough.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
CSatlantic1999 In reply to Faxen [2012-04-02 11:51:07 +0000 UTC]
I did! I had it between 140 and 150F. Can the water be hotter? I thought about using near boiling water... but I don't want to ruin the pellets.

Faxen In reply to CSatlantic1999 [2012-04-02 13:46:01 +0000 UTC]
hm, i would say you can go up to 170 and still be safe, just work up to it slowly. If that still doesn't work the pellets might be defective. :/

Hey you know what? You just saved me 300 bucks! I needed my plastic dental teeth whitening mold replaced when I lost it and my dentist said it would cost that much. o.O It is part of the rx kit you take home and do.
Besides this is pretty cool.
