Thousand Week Reich is a timeline and in-development Hearts of Iron IV mod set in a universe where Germany is victorious against Britain and France in 1941. Following the conflict in Western Europe, Britain and the United States became involved in a war with the Empire of Japan, and with Japan's surrender to allied forces in 1945 (after four nuclear weapons had been detonated on the islands), American troops secured the Korean Peninsula, installing Syngman Rhee as the first leader of the new Republic of Korea. Rhee's rule from 1945 to 1961 was characterised by authoritarianism and rigged elections, though with the widespread global democracy movement in the wake of Nazi Germany's collapse in 1960 and increasing resistance to Rhee's regime, he resigned and was succeeded by a more open and democratic government, drafting a new constitution to become the Second Republic of Korea.
