Description
I saw a stamp that says "Homestuck is better than Hetalia". So, I decided to say "Hetalia is better than Homestuck".But honestly, I tried to read Homestuck. It didn't go down too well. My eyes began scrunching up painfully. Part of it was because I didn't like the art. But just from the beginning, I really couldn't get into it. It just didn't appeal to me, to be honest. Not my cup of tea, you could say. From the beginning that I read, I didn't see a plot, although if I had continued, there probably would have been one.
I just couldn't handle it. I don't like it. At all. I honestly don't care if other people like it, though. It's fine if you're a fan.
I love Hetalia. It had a more interesting beginning, imo, with the funny world conference and stuff. I thought it was amusing, and it seemed to start out with a plot, although that kind of dwindled away in the later episodes. (I'm talking about the anime, not the manga). It just appealed to me more.
So therefore, in my opinion, Hetalia > Homestuck.
Hetalia has a shit fandom though.
However, from speaking with many Homestuck fans, they said that Homestuck also has a shitty fandom.
Some people say "But you can't compare the two". Maybe they're right.

And for that stamp?
To be honest, this all seems like the start of a forced conflict between relatively peaceful fandoms. I'm not taking sides, I dislike them both, but I'm curious about the ruckus.

"But honestly, I tried to read Homestuck. It didn't go down too well. My eyes began scrunching up painfully. Part of it was because I didn't like the art."
--Actually, there is some pretty amazing art in homestuck that only show up later on. Alot of which is far better than Hetalia art. The landscapes and color schemes are illustrated amazingly, while in hetalia, it looks like either messy water coloring, or a plain or gradiated background. bluh.
"But just from the beginning, I really couldn't get into it."
-- Even most homestuck fans agree that the beginning sucked, but along with the art, it all became facinating. THat is why homestuck has so many fans. Even I hated it at first, but I manned up and went through it anyways. Now i am glad that I made it past that part, because now I am reading an awesome story.

((The very first episode was captivating enough LMAO Hetalia defines nonsense~
The thing I hate about some of these comments is that some people are say Hetalia is pointless and racist blah blah history for idiots and such. But it can make history fun and interesting if you apply it in the right way. I really love this stamp. Thank you for making it~))

Hetalia is full of "hot guys", humour, randomness, it's simple, and very easy to get into. It has no real focus to it aside from jokes about the countries. It is for those with small attention spans. Homestuck supposedly takes thousands of pages to get to what most would call "the good part". That takes spare time, focus, and you cannot skip a single bit of it. It normally takes a more driven person to soak in all that is Homestuck and still get into it. It is harder to have fun with something that takes work. It take more intelligence than Hetalia does to get into it but to be fair it does not take much intelligence at all so much as it takes up your free time. The most I would say it takes mentally is being able to remember details since there are quite a few and you cannot miss a single one to get what is going on.
As much as I prefer Homestuck I can understand how it is a pain for some people especially since it requires hours of reading and retaining information whereas with Hetalia you need almost nothing to get into it aside from a general disregard of other cultures. At least from what I have noticed.

I agree. There's just too much to read through, and it's utterly boring until then. The only good thing about Homestuck is the design of the Trolls, but then you get a bunch of really awful Troll OCs that suck big time. Hetalia was more interesting and the characters had much more of a personality.

I don't think they're in the same genre really. I love hetalia and all of their shenanigans, but I could not get into homestuck either. Too much time wasted finding arms and not enough story. Perhaps if there was a way to skip the crap it might be okay. Unless it's all crap? XD

i like homestuck, but ive always been very patient with that kind of thing,it does have a plot(a very, very, complicated and thought out one) but not everyone can read that much story without getting bored
on another note i love hetalia anyway

I don't like Homestuck.
I started watching it and got bored at the start.
The characters look nice, but I don't feel like wasting like 3 days or more until I get to the plot.
Not interesting at all for me. (Unlike Hetalia e v e )

I've heard of homestuck but I've never actually looked it up, what is it? Is it worth reading/watching? And I agree with you, the hetalia fandom has in some sense spiralled out of control and turned rather...well shitty.

Well. Just be warned right now that I am very biased. So no, I don't think it is worth reading.
Don't worry about the fandom, I feel like it's getting slightly better.

I agree.
Homestuck is too hard to follow, and it's boring to me.
Hetalia is good, I just cant stand the OBSSESSIVE fans.
Most fans are like "hetalia is cool, I like Germany, Prussia, France, etc."
But then you have this:
"Ahem. I have written a Hetalia fanfiction. Here goes. PRUSSIA IS SO SEXY HE TURNED ON FRANCE TO THE POINT THAT THEY HAD BUTTSEX."
NO. I DO NOT SUPPORT THOSE FANS.
I mean, Yaoi is cool in some respects since it's like homosexual support and stuff, and love is love, but I think people take it too far when it's all just about sex and stuff.

I honestly don't care for either, I can't get into homestuck, the plot is too confusing and trying to read through it just irritates me, and hetalia is...just no. I have friends who used to constantly shout out and argue over the yaoi pairings... that left a bad impression on me.
