Im sorry to point this out, but that is not infact the oracle, that is Morla, The anciant one. He is a giant Turtle like creature that is found in the swamps of sadness. He has a split personality also... well he referes to him self as "we" anyway. Other then that your art is flawless

I loved the film. I still do. The wolf used to scare me when I was little. It's a shame the you really don't get real fantasy epics like that now.

read the book! the movie was only the first 4 chapters of the book! the movie actually makes no sense in comparison.

That giant turtle scared the crap out of me when I watched that movie as a kid.
Nice rendering of the scene! I remember a tall tree being next to the kid, but whatever. Nice!

The detail is amazing and i like the hesitant look of the main character as the oracle looks down on him with curiousity.

I've never read The Never Ending Story but i do intend to.

read this book when I was a kid... hated the movie after reading it. Like the others, I praise your attention to detail, the fact that there is so much information here that I see something new each time. Because of the size of the image, I can't see much of the hands and such, but something does seem a little off about them.

This is a beautiful work, the only advice I can give would be to give some more detail to the persons face but other than that it's fantastic.

Also, if it's not too much to ask, I'd like permission to draw my own version of this (I will give you credit for the original design).

Thank you very much for reading this and I hope to hear your response soon
Thanks

Thank-you for your compliments, and I'm glad that my composition inspires you, but it would be a disservice to both the work I put into the design, and your own development as an artist for you to copy it.

I'm sure that with a little thought you'll find your own way of interpreting this scene.

To be honest I'm suprised you actually responded to my message. I'll respect your wishes and will not copy the artwork (as much as I would have loved too). Anyways, thank you for you words, suprisingly enough, they were very inspiring themselves.

Thanks for the confidence booster my friend.

What a beautiful illustration for a beautiful book.. This is a wonderful depiction of one of my favorite characters in the entire novel, The Oracle. I don't know how you managed to make a beard on a turtle look natural, but you pulled it off! Thank you for a wonderful piece!
