My long-anticipated Persian, the Pokémon, cosplay fursuit partial, the first fursuit I've ever made.Sorry about the photos that are suckish, all our good cameras just happened to break the day before the convention when I wore the whole suit all at once for the first time.

Sorry about the lame music. My sister told me she could send me public domain cool music after I already posted the videos on Youtube. Ugh.
(Although I can't help but dance to that song!)
This costume features:
LED forehead jewel I commissioned from *Monoyasha
A latex cat nose I commissioned from *Monoyasha
A slightly "moving" jaw (moves with movement of my jaw)
Tail, hand-paws, foot-paws, and head
Sculpey clay claws and teeth
Fur purchased from DistinctiveFabric.com
No, it certainly did not come out perfect, it could have looked a lot more like a Persian. But, it came out way better than I expected, and I got tons of compliments and surprised faces when I admitted it's my first attempt at making a fursuit.
I really enjoyed making this, I can't wait for my next project!

Say if you were to sell a whole fursuit like this, how much would you charge?

To be honest, I'm not so sure. Back when I made Persian, I was foolish enough not to record the expenses or do any time recordings. I did however record the costs making Glameow, which as a fullsuit cost me about $265 in materials. The fur took up the bulk of the expense, costing me about $116 with shipping. This doesn't mean I would sell a fullsuit for $265 though, because that would only cover materials cost and not labor costs. I would charge not only the $265 for materials (keep in mind we're talking about fullsuits like Glameow here as opposed to partials like Persian), but also for each hour of work. For example, if I worked 70 hours on a costume (I clocked in at 120 hours working on a doll last year, so 70 hours is being extremely conservative. It's just hypothetical) and if I charged $5 an hour, I'd charge $350 in labor. Five bucks an hour is less than minimum wage though, and that's also not including taxes, so a professional fursuit maker would be extremely unlikely to charge so little. A novice like myself however could deal with the little pay because I'd take the opportunity to practice more so than to make a profit. I do not currently take commissions for anything fursuit related though, only dolls. Keep in mind when commissioning a fursuit maker, you get what you pay for in most scenarios.

Oh, because it's a partial. I didn't actually make the full suit, it's just the paws, tail, and head. So, this way it's more like a persian-person more so than a full-fledged furry. It was just for practice, so I didn't make the full costume.

Oh yeah! Oh my gosh, I wanted to get a photo of your costume, but I never got the chance because every time I saw you, your head was off (aside from the time you were running on stage, but I only had my phone's camera at that time and it can't zoom).
Yeah, I was at the masquerade, but I was just observing. Apparently I missed seeing a lot of other Pokémon fursuiters too, now that I look at your gellery and see the awesomeness I missed. I'm thinking I'll make a new pokémon fursuit and enter it in the costume contest next year!

I would go to AB, but I moved to Alabama last year so even going to Connecticon was a miracle. Plus, only two of my other friends attend it, and I'm not all that close to them, so I've never actually been to AB.
When I'm more financially stable and can afford to travel more, I'll probably go.

I built the hind paws over regular shoes, Uggs, actually. So, it's really just a comfortable shoe that slips on like any ordinary boot.
