Could you simplify this?... I can't pay attention to tutorials that are displayed in large paragraphs, I am just too impatient honestly. I just need simple steps with simple sentences.

What brushes do you use?Β You didn't mention it in the tutorial - can't wait to try it.

Hmmm, a little constructive criticism here, but it was rather obvious to my eye that this was painted in values, then colored, before I even saw that it was a tutorial. I'm sure it would fool most people, but to me the skin tones are relatively flat and uninteresting, in the tutorial you show using a variety of colors can help make the skin pop, but that did not come through on the finished product, imo. The skin color bleeds into the hair and is too saturated on the ears. Maybe next time try to use a spicier picture as example so we can really see your techniques, rather than a stock white male with blue eyes.
You are obviously very talented and quite a skilled painter, I'm just not sure if this technique is entirely successful.

Thank you so much for this tutorial! Really helpful since I get the values and everything easier done in grayscale, but I like the look of a colored painting more!

wow, great tutorial I generally don't use greyscale to colorΒ (partially because I'm a bit intimidated by it), but know a lot of digital artist do and recommend doing so. Thanks for breaking it down into easy to follow and understand steps
Using sepia over traditional greyscale makes a lot more sense to me as well

Thank you so much! Β I think it may take longer than usual and for me the result would be the same as painting normally and adjusting values at the end. Β Whatever works
Yep I don't know why people don't use sepia...there's a bit more control to it.
