Finally got my Video Card upgrade!Now I got a quite cheap, but much a better video card than before - nVidia GeForce 6200 With 256 MB DDR and fully DirectX 9.0 compatible (unlike my old 4200)
I also got a extra 512 MB of RAM, and the performance change is noticeable, a little. So now I have 1.5 GB of ram which is between the minimum (1GB) and perfect (2 GB)
Even though they wre supposed to put it in a extra slot, that way i could have 2 GB, but it's not really such a big difference anyway.
Aero is really sweet in my opinion, and not slow at all, in fact it runs no slower than basic, so I think I will be using it all the time. The full vista ultimate experience is much much better with aero! Not to mention that I'll get enhanced graphics in games, will be able to run movie maker etc.
I'm going to switch to vista as the full time OS now, maybe do some customization later.
I won't abandon XP completely though, I might make some changes to Aero Ultimate, since I got the real deal now.
I also recommend everyone who is still on XP to try vista, it's JUST AWESOME!

I'm glad you have the upgrades that allow you to run Vista the way it was meant to be run. But like Vipervoid, I also hope you will continue to create a FINAL version of Aero Ultimate. I have been running Vista Ultimate (which I too got for FREE) for quite some time. I have 2 Gigs of RAM on a 2Ghz processor and a Nvidia card with 1 Gig of DDr2 RAM but it's still slower than running XP. I find I can do more with XP but I LOVE the way Vista looks. That's why I visit your profile at least 2 times per day to see what you've come up with next. In my opinion, you are the best skinner on the planet. Please don't give up on the XP to Vista customizations.

Vista IS the best OS but only if u take out two points :
1. Software Compatibility
2. U really need a graphics card. Doesn't matter how much ram u have.
So for me its still .... XP is the better option.
And ofcourse I am a Vista fan too...

Thanks, but no, a msstyles can't do that, I mean the transparent taskbar, frames startmenu etc...
But it's possible to achieve a close look by using TrueTransparency.

No I meant like.....if u make the borders like aero borders wud look on a bluish-green background. I know transparency isn't possible on xp ( I know truetransparency too coz heh! I am an experienced customizer
So yeah! if u can just mimic the aero borders...not black-borders like we see in most "Vista Visualstyles for XP" u know ...

I know a few VSs that do just that - have some wallpaper with a blur effect for the frames, but it's fail.

Vista isn't that bad as most people say. Sure, Vista has some Contras, with compatibility and little stuff like the crappy Photo Gallery ... anyway, Vista is nice.
But the optimal thing is - as you use it - Dualboot with XP. I encountered some compatiblility problems with 2 games so i had to run them on XP

Well, actually I thought the same way about Longhorn when I first installed it on my laptop. I thought that Vista's Aero is more advanced than Longhorn's, and my Laptop can run it, Longhorn's Aero should be a "Walk in a Fresh Meadow". But it didn't end up very well when I first ran Aero xD

ur wrong IM using radeon 9250 PRO FAmily and vista is not supported with this card But on longhorn yes cuz longhorn has no limit on aero. if your video card is not supported by vista longhorn can

Vista is NOT awesome. Slow, expensive and steals your freedom. M$ steals your privacy, your money and your freedom of choice. I've tried Vista, I've been using XP for a long time. XP is better than Vista, and Linux is better than XP.
M$ say that Vista has 3D capablities. No way.
Flip 3D is slow as hell and looks awful. In Linux, using Compiz Fusion, you can get realtime flipping effects, faster and better. You can drag a video player while playing a video, it will still have the window dragging effects, without any lag. Vista is slow as hell, DWM is heavy. Face it. It's the worst OS ever. Even M$ know it. That's why they're developing Midori.
I don't know why you're so excited about using Aero, I'm not sure if that was you , but someone said that default interfaces are boring.

Stop being so butthurt. EVERYONE knows microsoft is crap but they dont steal my money! Ever here of THE PIRATE BAY!!!!!!! hahahahaha linux has a descent gui its better than windows XP's but not windows Vista's. (trust me im not a fan of microsofts the promised me longhorn by 2003 i got vista in 2006 and with allot of stuff taken out. There developing Midori because the previous OSes are now obsolete. It happens. The thing that worked 16 years ago aint going to work now. Get over it. Windows vista has exselent 3d abilities. Have you ever seen a DX10 game? Trust me i am no Microsoft fanboy. I have tried perty much every operating system out there and they all have there advantages. As a communist mind you i do condemn microsofts business practices but i am willing to admit when they did something right (wich aint that often) and i do say vista aint the best microsoft could have made with there massive resources BUT it is the best operating system for home users at the moment. Linux is still the best server os on the planet and Mac os well............. just sucks.

I never USED Aero before, that's why I'm so exited
But I might get bored of it soon.
Also Vista was free for me, in fact the ultimate edition.
I disabled all services that could "steal" my privacy. This isn't even a problem
Aero is not slow as i said, it's fast just like basic, it also has real time effects like video viewing in Flip3D, thumbnails etc. I would never want or use those cheap overblown beta effects linux has
Vista is a little better than XP, and both are better than Linux in my opinion.
But let's not start a Linux vs Windows fight, it's just pointless.
PS fact - vista haters hate vista coz either their PC is buggy with vista, is incompatible with vista or don't have money for vista. I had 2 of those problems, but simple upgrades solved all.
